-Dex's POV-
"Oh my god, are you serious!?" Jordan yelled as he slammed his hand onto the table like a maniac. "I'm sorry, I told you I did everything I could just calm down." I replied, slightly annoyed. Here I was explaining what had happened the night before. "Maybe we could have caught them if you weren't such a bitch and actually helped me chase them." The damned furries with their little tricks. Jordan looked shameful for half of a second and then was back to anger. "You're a vampire, Dex. You should've been able to handle it." He revealed his fangs to emphasize his point. "It's not like I chose to be one. Maybe I don't want to work with you anymore, it's just stressful. You won't even tell me what you need the girl for. Why is she so important?" I lashed back out at him. "Well Dex maybe you'll get to know once she is actually captured." A thick tension filled the room.
It was silent for at least a minute until... All Of You. Over Here. Now. Everyone in the room stopped in slight pain and shock.
We had all sacrificed something in order to be able to communicate through each other's thoughts. These powers were often heavily abused by Jordan and used to hurt us. All 6 of us. One of which who has run away in attempts to escape. Everyone knows that he's close by but none of us have bothered to find him. Poor guy must've passed out from the pain of his punishment... There were also rumors of one that really did escape. That fox.
After recovering from the brutal headache that everyone was given they quickly gathered around their boss. All of them were his slaves. Everyone was trapped here. All tricked into their situation.
"Find her. I could care less about how you do it, just find her and give her to me. Whoever brings her here will even get a little prize..." Jordan paused to snicker. "They won't get to know how it feels to be burned to a crisp from the inside out." Everyone looked at him in mixtures of fear and disgust. No one could move. The pain would be unimaginable. "What? Are you all scared?" He smiled. "Go on then, fight for your prize."
Everyone including myself managed to swiftly move out of the small cellar we were in, and back up to the club. There's not much we could discuss with each other. Everything we thought and heard would get to Jordan. He had almost complete control over all of us.
Seamus went back over to cleaning the bar and the others were sitting at booths, hunched over in stress. I myself just tried to relax and keep myself from saying anything I would heavily regret. I would also have to be careful with my thoughts. Feeling too strongly about anything could cause problems. I sighed and more memories from last night came to mind.
-Cue Flashback~~~~~~~~ :) -
There he was. It was the fox that everyone was telling me about. The lucky one that actually escaped. He held the girl that Jordan spoke of. The girl that I was sent to get back.
I snapped out of the small trance I was in when I realized how quickly he was getting away. Using the small blade on the ring I was given I cut into the palm of my hand and was able to grow out my wings. I was incredibly fast and could catch up to my targets quite quickly, though I was so distracted by growing my wings that I didn't realize I lost them. It was only my fifth time doing this. I wasn't exactly used to being a vampire and to be honest I had no idea what else I was capable of yet.
I turned around and spotted a couple of the others behind me. "I can smell them over here." James said as he raced in a different direction. I tried to follow after but was hit by a sudden sleepiness. The last thing I heard was a small giggle and "See ya!" as I fell into a deep sleep.
-Flashback over -
Damn. If only I actually knew what the hell I was doing. We wouldn't have to do this stupid little competition and no one would have to get hurt. I'm such an idiot, but realistically, so is Jordan.
My thoughts were interupted by yet another flash of pain. I guess he heard me...
It was already noon and soon enough everyone would have to start getting ready for another night at this run down piece of rubbish. I sat back in a somewhat comfy chair and closed my eyes. Maybe if I was lucky I would wake up in a better place.
