Desc: Lily and the girls go dress shopping for Lily's dress
Notes: Mary is not meant to look like a jerk in this! She is just very opinionated and busy at the moment when she speaks. She isn't listening to what she's saying and doesn't know shes being a bit mean in the first half! We love Mary here <3

"That was so bad." Dorcas laughed as they asked out of the Diner.

"Yeah, let's maybe not go back till business calms down a bit." Alice also laughed as she tossed out the almost empty to-go boxes.

"Well usually it's really good," Mary said in defense. "Me, you, and Frank go all time, and service has never been that bad. Plus, Lily is the one who loves that place."

"Girls, it's not that big of a deal." Lily said, rolling her eyes with a smile. "A messed up breakfast isn't going to ruin our day. This is girls day, and girl day is supposed to be fun."

"Yea yea, anyway," Mary said, pulling out a small notebook and a pen, crossing something out. "Since Alice already has hers, it's time for Lil's dress shopping time!!"

"Oh I can't wait," Lily said with a big smile, and pulled a small photo clipping from her pocket.

"What's that?" Dorcas asked.

"Oh er.. it's dress inspiration. A dress I've always-"

"That dress?" Mary said, giving it a weird look. "It reminds me of my Moms."

"Aren't you always making fun of your Moms wedding dress when you look at old pictures?"

"Exactly." Mary laughed.

Lily frowned, and put her picture away. "Well I think it's-"

"Let's go girls!" Mary said, clearly not paying attention to anything as she was occupied with her list, and dragged them all to the dress shop down the rode.
-
"We'll wait right out here and you can try them on alright?" Mary said, shoving what seemed like 80 dresses into Lily's arms and pushing her towards the dressing room where the consulate was waiting for her.

"Alright alright!" Lily sighed, smiling as she walked in to try the first dress on
-
After about 2 hours, they still hadn't found any dresses Lily liked. Or more accurately, the girls liked.

Lily honestly said she didn't mind what dress she would be wearing, although deep down it was clear she had her mind set on a certain picture in her head.

All the dresses so far had been nothing like what she, or the girls wanted in the first place.

"To poofy."

"Way to sparkly."

"Eh, not a fan of all the lace..."

"To much layering, it doesn't compliment you right."

"Maybe go for something a bit more mermaid dress then?"

"Nope wait never mind, that bottom looks awful, next choice!"

After about 14 dresses, Lily became tired, and didn't feel much excited about this anymore. She knew her friends were gonna keep finding things wrong with the dresses they were picking, so she decided to grab a few more she liked.

None of them were a match, and Lily was completely unmotivated. She put the dress she had just tried on back on the hanger and sat in her chair, wanting to be done.

"Having trouble?" Lisa, the consultant, said coming back from taking the dresses out of the room.

Lily sighed and fidgeted with the sleeve of her robe. "Just not seeming to find anything I like."

"Didn't you say you liked the one you just tried on?"

"Well yeah, but the girls turned it down. To plain.."

Lisa frowned and grabbed the dresses on the rejected rack. "Well the job her is to find a dress the bride likes isn't it?"

"I know it is and I know I should find one I like, but I want to take my friends opinions into care. I mean, Mary has always been the one with taste anyway.."

Lisa thought for a second. "I heard you saying to the girl out there you had a dress in mind when you walked in both your tried the first few dresses on. Have you already seen that one?"

"Oh er, well I don't really have a specific dress in mind, more like a design." Lily said shyly, taking out a photo clipping from a magazine and handing it to her. "When I was little me, my Mum, and my sister would always talk about a dress like this and how pretty it would be. I never really lost my liking for it, and maybe something like this, just a bit more simply would be nice. Though I doubt you would have anything like it-"

"Now now, let's not be so sure.." Lisa said, taking one last look at the picture and stepping out of the room. About five minutes later, she walked back in and had a dress in hand.

It wasn't like what the picture was, but it was better. Lily knew at first glance, no matter what her friends said, she had found the dress.
-
"Okay girls, we're coming out!" Lisa said, walking in before Lily with a big smile.

"Finally!" Mary said sitting up. "She hasn't come out to show the past few-" Mary started, and then her jaw dropped.

Lily had looked amazing. More then amazing even. The girls couldn't help but stare in awe as she walked out. Lily was even seeming to look in shock.

"Oh my merlin, it's perfect!" Alice gasped, tears already starting to form in her eyes.

"You think so?" Lily said with a shy laugh, looking at herself in the mirror and turning back to the girls. The dress was a long, simple patterned dress that had baggy, yet gorgeous flowy short sleeves.

"Oh you found it!" Marlene said with pure excitement in her voice. "It looks absolutely gorgeous on you Lily..."

Mary wasn't sure what to say. She had been wrong. Both Lily and the dress were absolutely stunning. Not only was the dress perfect, but the look on Lily's face was even better. She could tell just from that this was the dress.

"Proved me wrong Lil's," Mary said, tears of her own starting to form. "You look.. it's perfect.."

Lily couldn't hold it back either and tears started to fall. "Dang it you guys, now I know how Siri feels when his mascara gets messed up!"

They all laughed and none of them were dry eyes by the that point.

"So," Lisa started with a smirk. "Do we have a yes to the dress?"

"Yes," Lily said after looking in the mirror and to the girls one more time. "It's a absolute yes!"

All the girls, and some people around the store, clapped and cheered for Lily. They all pulled into a hug and cried some more, it being quite the special moment.
-
"James sure is a lucky man." Mary said with a smile as they walked towards the building of where the Bridal shower party would be.

"Because he gets to marry Lily or because his wife will have a dress like that?" Marlene asked jokingly.

"It can't be both?" She answered sarcastically.

"You both are awful." Lily laughed with an eye roll following.
