"I'm sorry, the number you have dialed is not available. Please hang up, and try your call again..."

Queen groaned, slapping her phone to her coffee table.

She had checked her bank account and found that her parents had been depositing money continuously. She didn't understand- her grandparents had left her a trust fund and she'd paid off for school with it. Not only that, but she worked as a private doctor's secretary after classes. She was set.

She didn't want their money, and they've been ignoring her since their horrible party. Why would they do such a thing?

She dialed their numbers once more, and each of their phones went to voicemail.

It would not be concerning in any other instance because her parents had a way of ignoring her when she messed up, but after Sanchez had explained to her their lack of contact, she began to worry.

"I went every morning.", he explained to her over the phone no lore than five minutes before.

"No one answered the door. No one picked up the phone. The guards weren't by the gates, but everything was locked shut. I would've hopped the fence but I saw some wolves on the property.", he shrugged.

"Wolves?", she replied.

"Huge fucking wolves."

She dialed their respective numbers one last time. This time, it rang out until their phones were cut off.

Her frustrations proved to be too much. She jammed her phone into her pocket and stood to put on her jacket.

The bus ride to Lashawna's house was fairly smooth and fast seeing that it was 8 in the morning. Her house still looked pristine and well kept. As a matter of fact, her father was out front tending to his little garden.

"Good morning Queen- what a surprise. Last I heard of you Shawna said you guys weren't friends anymore.", he put his arms out to hug the young woman.

"Yes sir. She was becoming less of the girl I thought of as a sister, I'm sorry to say.", she hugged him and stepped back as she replied.

"I hear you there.", he took his glasses off and wiped it clean of any smudges.

"Is she in?", Queen asked.

"Sure is. But I gotta warn ya, she came in pretty drunk."

He led Queen throughout their brownstone home until they came upon Lashawna's room. As per usual, the door was wide open and a half naked Lashawna was sprawled across her bed.

"Hey Queen!", Shawna's much younger brother Lakeith greeted her happily, passing by Shawna's room nonchalantly.

"I know that Keith feels some way about the amount of attention we give Shawna. We don't even realize that we're playing into her little game until...."

Queen turned to LaTron, Shawna's father and sighed.

"Maybe attention is what she wants. At the end of the day, legally Shawna's an adult but she hasn't had a proper taste of the 'real world' yet, and Lakeith needs his parents."

LaTron nodded, and left Queen to battle things out with Lashawna.

It was apparent that Shawna's drinking had gotten worst. Old school mates had told Queen some time ago that Shawna was hospitalized for alcohol poisoning twice. She knew that an addict would more than likely die from their third overdose, and it had frightened her to think that she would lose Shawna.
