Of all places she wanted to be, her father's Autumn Jubilee was not one of them.

He had his mansion made up to rival royalty; all gold, extravagant and extremely eccentric. She never liked it much, but she went along with it to please her folks.

She sighed, resting her head gently on the window of the town car. Juan, Sanchez's husband, groaned softly, moving her hair from her shoulders to examine the damage she had caused. "You can't be doing crazy shit like that Queen! It took me two hours to enhance your already perfect face."

She sat up a bit startled by his tone, but once she saw the tiny smirk on his lips, she relaxed. Juan noticed, saying of it, "You've had to walk on eggshells for such a long time that you don't even know when someone's being sarcastic..."

Queen shook her head and sighed. "I wish you would come." Juan sucked his teeth and folded his legs. "Nope. Your D. L twink of a pappy don't like us prideful homosexuals, honey. It seems like every time he sees my dick print he just gets tizzick. Probably thinking of what he's missing out on. No offense baby girl, but your thot ass mommy looks about as boring as Amy Schumer."

Queen blushed. She wouldn't say she was innocent, but she definitely wasn't a worldly woman either. Juan's rhetoric was packed with such sexuality that she couldn't help but giggle like an inexperienced virgin.

"Enough about sex and my parents- how do I look?"

Sanchez and Juan turned their attention to Queen, then each other. They shared a smile and nodded. "You look beautiful. Exquisite. Just....amazing, really."

Queen froze. She remembered when a certain opal eyed stranger whispered those very remarks with each stroke, with every moan that died into a whimper, with every thrust of his hips, with every-

"Queen, sweetie.", Sanchez rubbed her shoulder delicately.

"Are you ok?"

She was flustered, but she wouldn't let them know that. Sanchez had sworn secrecy, but Juan figured it out as soon as he paid her a visit after her Vegas getaway. However, their clueless stares meant that they had no clue of the erotic playback that had just occurred.

"Are you going to be okay facing Lashawna?", Juan painstakingly asked.

Queen's shoulders slumped. "Oh, I forgot."

They hadn't spoken since September. It was early November now, and by Lashawna's lack of presence of her social media accounts, it means that she hadn't found someone else to manipulate into a friendship. Queen didn't know what took her so long to realize that Lashawna was a narcissistic opportunist, but it no longer mattered. She no longer had to put up with toxic behavior because she was too afraid of defying their identity.

So it starts with Lashawna and ends with her parents.

She took a deep breath and sighed. "I'll go now.", she smiled at the couple, then exited the town car. She walked as slowly as possible to the entrance of her parents' house. The bushes that lined their path was decorated with glittering lights, and there were men and women swaddled in beautiful velvet coats and dresses that smiled adoringly at her.

She had to give it to her parents, they knew how to throw a party. Two men in butler's wear opened the door as she approached, and bowed delicately as she crossed the threshold of the cold outdoors into the warm, palace-like mansion. She gasped once she familiarized herself in what used to be her childhood home. Everything was gold except, of course, for the mirrors that reflected the gold walls and the grande, pearl chandelier that was suspended high up on the ceiling. She was alone for but a moment, for as she stepped all the way in, a flock of servers offered her every delicacy possible: sangria wine, champagne, sparkling cider, hor d'oeuvers, creme brulee, assorted cheese, and smoked meats.
