Luke nodded towards Michael and searched around the room to break the tension in the room. He noticed a map and decided to explore the building.

The first floor was filled with patients, so Luke travelled up a flight of stairs onto the second. The first thing he noticed was a large open room with roughly around 25 people sitting around in a circle quietly speaking.

Luke sat on a couch a few feet away from the group so no one would notice him. The group kept speaking about their feeling and crying which made him roll his eyes. People who cry freely annoy the hell out of him. Hide your goddamn feelings like a normal human being.

"So, for the new people here, let's talk about ourselves a bit! Does anyone want to say anything?" A lady, most likely a therapist asked happily as if it would lighten the mood. "How about you, Ashton? Do you want to try to say something today?"

The boy, Ashton, shook his head and crawled into a ball in his seat. The new people looked at him in confusion but others just smiled knowingly.

"Uh, I'll start I guess," a boy raised his hand.

He seemed dead; no emotions or colour in his face. That aside, he was pretty good looking. Luke mentally shook his head for his thoughts. "I'm Calum. I'm not new, I just haven't been to any of these before. Ashton suggested it." Ashton shrunk into the chair even more at the mention of his voice. "I uh - I'm bipolar, I guess. I don't know, it just happened out of nowhere and I'm still confused. I'm on some pretty heavy drugs that makes me feel like a zombie, so," He motioned to himself in disgust. "That's why I look like a living skeleton."

Some softly giggled, since that's all they really could do. "What about you?" Calum looked straight at Luke and smirked.

He suddenly became anxious at the sudden rush of eyes glaring at him. The therapist looked his way and sat up off her chair and motioned him for him to sit.

Luke walked towards the group, slowly sat down and smiled at the lady, thanking her.

Calum hasn't taken his eyes off of him since he noticed the boy. It made Luke uncomfortable, feeling as if he was glaring at how ugly he was.

"I'm Luke," was all he was able to get out at that moment. So many people were staring at him and it was overwhelming. Luke's heart sped up and he started breathing more harshly. Some girls started whispering to each other which didn't help his anxiety at the moment.

Not only did Luke feel pressured to speak, but he didn't want to talk about what happened to him. It was dumb to him, he felt it wasn't something worthy talking about compared to everyone else's stories.

"Alright then!" Thank the lord the lady spoke or else Luke would've thrown up. "That's it for this session! Come talk to me if you ever need anything. And I mean it."

The group split up and left in different directions. Luke awkwardly sat up, confused as to where to go next. Calum sat up and walked Luke's way.

"So, newbie, huh?" He smirked.

Luke chuckled and nodded. "Yeah, not very good around crowds. I'm more of a listener."

"Is that why you're here?" Luke furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.

"I mean, you listen to people's problems and don't talk about your own, right?" Luke nodded. "That must have bit you in the ass real hard, am I right?" He asked confidently.

Luke smiled. "You should be a psychiatrist."

"Yeah well, having a mental illness limits job options." It suddenly became awkward as Luke had no idea how to respond to that.

"So, have you met some people?" Calum asked.

"Uh, my roommates name is Michael. I didn't talk to him much since he was busy talking to himself."

Calum nodded knowingly. "Yeah, his parents shoved him in here because they thought it would help him get over his fear of leaving the house. The first week he spent here, he just screamed and cried. It was so hard to watch someone go through that."

Luke was disgusted by Michael's parents. How can they do that to their own son? "The doctors didn't do anything?"

Calum shook his head. "No, Michael's parents are rich and bribed the place to keep him until he was legally allowed to leave. Which is in a few months actually." Calum seemed relieved at the thought of the boy getting away from this place.

"How long have you been here?" Luke questioned.

"Only a month. It seems like six, though." He must have seen his reaction because he soon reassured him it would be alright. "It's really not that bad, you know. You'll be just fine as long as you stick with me."
