I thanked him as he pushed in the chair under me and quickly sat in his. "I'm sorry to keep you waiting, you look beautiful."
"Thank you, you don't look so bad yourself."
"Well you know, I did a little dabbling here and there." He said, brushing off his shoulder and clicking his hair to the side. I paused to laugh as brought the glass of water to my mouth and cleared my throat.
Ok so he has a sense of humor, not bad
(Bold means inner thoughts)
"So, what is the whole reason behind you going on a blind date? Your a pretty handsome guy, shouldn't be that hard."
"Well, I'm looking for someone that I can finally settle down with, maybe start a family with and grow old with them by my side, but I never was able to pick the right ones. It just never seems to work out, always ends with someone calling the other crazy. Figured why not try a different approach." He said while picking up the menu and rubbing his hand against the rim, lost in thought.
(Huh, they all end with someone being called crazy? Well now I can only assume it's you since you didn't say who said it to who directly)
"Anyways, what about you?"
"Uhh, my best friend has a small obsession with me and blind dates, and I figure why not give it a shot, maybe it'll work out."
"Oh, yh my best friend is the exact same, and let me guess, your mom is breathing down your back about bringing home someone?" I nodded in surprise as he laughed to himself.
"Good evening, may I take your order?"
"Yes, I'll have the beef Wellington and for the lady maybe a salad?" I looked up from my menu as I saw him smiling at the waiter. "Yh no, maybe not, I'll have the steak well done please." I smiled at the waiter as he took our menus and bowed before leaving.
(Excuse me? A salad? In what world would you think I came to a fancy dinner to eat a goddamn salad?)
"A salad? What was that?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, it's just that you have such a nice figure, I figured you would want to eat light."
(My weight? I don't need you to worry about my weight because no matter what it says on the scale it's still my body! I mean who does this guy think he is?)
"Wow, that was really thoughtful of you to do," I said while giving my best smile.
"No problem, just looking out for you." I nodded as the server came back with the food and occupied myself with eating. For the rest of the evening, I avoided talking and counted the seconds until the night was over.
/After Dinner/
My hands rubbed together as I tried to keep myself warm from the cold. I looked over at him as he gave me a smile before reaching out his hand and hailing a taxi. He walked to the edge of the sidewalk and opened the door before looking back and giving me a smile.
"I guess I'll see you later." He said before climbing into the seat and pulling away.
"Prick!"
