Ga Eul's pov

Me and Baekhyun were laughing about this joke he came up with. "Yah! i'm only laughing because i'm nice!" I slap his arm

"Nope~ You think its funny!" he singsongs

I roll my eyes, "Whatever... shhhh my mom is calling."

"Hello?"

"G-ga Eul come to the hospital quick... it's your father he's-" I drop my phone and look at Baekhyun with horror.

"What's the matter?" he asks

"Can you drive me? my dad..."

Within seconds i'm in his car and driving to the hospital. "Hello" a nurse greets me

"Um, i'm here to see my dad, Mr.Choi."

"Dad!" I rush by his side

"Ga Eul, my beautiful daughter. How are you? Who is that young man beside you?"

Baekhyun bows, "Hello sir, i'm her friend."

"Aww, c'mon don't lie, you must be her boyfriend!"

He blushes, "Sorry, no..."

"dad, you can't leave me...." i feel a big tear roll down....

"Listen I only have a couple of more hours, let me speak with your new friend."

I leave and so does my mom. "So I saw him at the party."

I nod. That is all I could do.

Baekhyun's pov

"What is your name, son?"

"Baekhyun sir. Byun Baekhyun."

He faintly smiles, "Are you sure you aren't my daughter's boyfriend? *sigh* You seem perfect for her... too bad I won't live to see the moment she gets married..."

"No, don't say that sir..."

"Sookyung, call me Sookyung. "Sir" makes me feel old. Even if i'm already."

He pats my hand, "Listen Baekhyun. I know you are a gangster. But please becareful with my daughter."

"I will."

"And, I know you love her so don't let her go."

My eyes widen, "But... But how did you know?"

He laughs, "Ahhh... C'mon. Even if I just met you now, I can tell. If you ever become her boyfriend, you have my blessing. I know you are the type of person who will never let go. Even if you are a gangster."

"I promise you Sookyung, that I will stick by her, protect her and help her."

He squeezes my hand, "Thank you Baekhyun. Now I know who will take care of her." he coughes violently. "Please get them."

I open the door. "You can come back now."

She dashes by his side, "Dad. I love you."

He careresses her cheek, "Take care of your friend there and he'll do the same."

Ga Eul starts to cry "Dad, please, i'm begging you. Stay!!!!!"

"I love you my daughter. Please keep being yourself when I pass..."

"NO! YOU WON'T LEAVE!" she howls

"I have to... It's time... Goodbye, I love you all...even if i just met you Mr. Byun."

Then, the monitor is a long straight beep.

"No....Nonononon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Ga Eul screams

Her mom looks away. Ga Eul is bawling her head off and I even managed to slip some tears. The nurse rushes in with 3 more other doctors.

2 hours later, she is still crying. "I'm sorry.." is all I say

My shirt is wet from her tears. Here we are in my car, still crying. "Dad...." she mutters

Before we came to the hospital, I was ready to ask her out. But the timing was too late.

"Baekhyun, thank you for taking me here."

I smile, "No problem."

I sigh, it really isn't the good time to ask isn't it?

Then when is?

On the weekend, I attended the funeral. Ga Eul looked so delicate, it pained me.

I drove her home. "Thank you. See you tomorrow at school."

"Ga Eul, wait." I halt her

"What?"

"I--- Never mind. See you tomorrow."

I drive off, frustrated. I angrily run my hand through my hair. Damn you time, I hate you so much. When will the timing EVER be right?!

But I push that aside, I have a promise to commit to.
