Chapter 5- Off into the Darkness

                                Splash. That is the sound of two strapping fully-clothed jocks jumping in to Jerry's pool. These boys are drunker than the wyno that sits by the hotdog stand outside the mall. What a hell of party.

We stood on the edge of the second floor balcony people watching. Just waiting for the perfect moment to strike our revenge. There goes Jerry. June had already started to head downstairs. She looked back and gave me 'it is a go' look. Time to get to work.

“Jerry! Baby come here I have a surprise for you.” June yells.

“K babe” Jerry says as he strolls over to June and plants here a huge one.

June grins so big I could she every tooth in her mouth .Perfectly white. Damn she was a good actress.

“Stay right here” June tells Jerry as she runs to the back of the yard to the garage. She grabs a megaphone and says “Hey everybody looks at me, and cut the music”

Everyone turns and faces her. That's my que. I head downstairs to the spare bedroom. The one Jerry keeps all of his 'supplies'.

“ We are here to celebrate Jerry's 18th year of life in the best way we know, by getting as fucked up as we can and fucking till were sore. Everybody agree?” June says. As June looks around the cheering and jeering room she notices Jerry staring at her glowing. He has no idea. “So I thought I would get the night started right for everyone and for ME & JERRY soooo-” She turned around and pushed the button to the garage.

                OMFG! The garage had been converted in to a high rise bar. It was stainless steel and hung just the right for Jerry to fit his truck under, a bar that went from wall to wall with built in nozzles and 4 bartenders ready to work. The full package. Every space on the shelf was covered with a different type of liquor.

“It’s a new place for my baby to get wasted, Jerry's own personal bar. And you can’t have an opening without the owner, so baby get your ass up here, I am parched!” June says. Jerry makes his way to where she is standing. “Happy Birthday babe”.

                Jerry picks her up and twirls her around. He grabs the mega phone and says “Thanks to my wonderful baby we have a new spot to chill, and get blitzed. And since it’s my birthday we start tonight! WOOHOOO”

                Everybody starts heading towards the garage. I had made my way downstairs to the hall between the spare room and the kitchen. Now was my chance everyone would be heading to the bar, the perfect cover. I slipped into the room and went straight to the fireplace in the corner. Thanks to Mack the local electrician I knew exactly were his hiding spot was.

                Mack's younger sister was used and abandoned by Jerry earlier that year and he was not happy about it. She told him were he hid his stash .He told me after I set him up with Cookie from the gas station. He always pointed out her sweet ass but never had the courage to talk to her. I fixed that. Now everyday around 2 the meet up behind store and get it in. Mack loved him some chocolate.

                I moved the electric fireplace out of the way, put in Jerry's pin and wah la. I open it find cash of course, a few legal documents and exactly what I was looking for. A pack of condoms and little baggie of weed. I grabbed the condoms, lifestyle regular to add, June was not missing much. I sprinkle in this powder stuff Maria gave to me on the condoms. What hell was this? I sprinkled and it disappeared. O well.

I had just put everything back in place and slipped into the living room when Jerry, June, Carlos, Ben and Yolonda walked through the patio door. “Yo we bout to smoke some green and chill in lounge, want to come?” Jerry asks me.
