Kihyun's jaw dropped at that. How could someone fall in love with a person they don't know? It was absolutely ridiculous and Kihyun wasn't having it. "Listen man, if you want free food there are better ways to get it. I have work right now." Kihyun stated annoyed as he pushed the man away and quickly entering the building, leaving the bunny man behind.
Once the tiny chef had closed the door behind him, he made his way quickly into his office, trying not to give the situation too much thought. "Just some crazy customer." And it wasn't like Kihyun didn't get those in his restaurant. People usually threw fits, some others were so traumatized that they held onto the waiters' leg because they didn't want to leave.
Some manifest money and a soulmate. Kihyun manifests mayhem.
"Good morning boss!" He heard someone say from the door. "Hi Heejin." He didn't sound as enthusiastic as he had wished, he didn't want his employees to know about his troubles, but it wasn't necessarily easy for him to hide them.
"Kihyun, are you alright? I can see your heartbeat from here, your ribs will break." Typical Heejin, she was always exaggerating everything. Though his heart was indeed beating insanely hard, it has his quick breathing and sweaty forehead that was giving him away. "Yes, Heejin, I'm okay. Now get to work before I get angry."
His voice was sweet, but the girl knew he was serious. She had been his friend long enough to know how scary he was when he was upset. It was almost like magic, whenever Kihyun was outraged, the whole kitchen and even the customers were in a similar mood. It always rained for them.
Indeed like magic. But not the good type.
Heejin couldn't really remember the last time Kihyun was actually happy. He was either angry, sad, or neither. But he never genuinely laughed. She wondered how the days would look when Kihyun's head wasn't gloomy. Perhaps the rain would come after a very hot day. The plants would thank him for helping instead of drowning them with him in his own head. Because even that was a matter of worry to Kihyun.
The damn plants he had in his office.
He either watered them too much or too little, but that was a story for another time. Speaking of his plants, Kihyun had to water them that day according to his day-by-day calendar, so he walked over to the window, where his plants were bending weirdly due to the strange angle at where the sun was hitting them and his eyes widened when he looked out to the street.
The weird man was still outside, but he was engaging in a conversation... with HYUNWOO! They were apparently both waiting outside for the restaurant to open and they were having fun talking. Which could be both a blessing and a curse.
On the one hand, the blonde would realize that "loving" Kihyun was just a phase and would fall madly in love with Hyunwoo, but on the other hand, the man Kihyun was working so hard on seducing would fall for that bunny gym bro who had no idea on how to make perfect french toasts. And Hyunwoo deserved french toasts every fucking morning.
After watering the plants, the small chef sat back down in his office, watching the clock anxiously as he expected the main doors to open. Once the clock hit the exact same hour, the man rushed into the kitchen, breathing heavily as he greeted all the staff. "Morning, boss. Are you helping us today too?"
'Helping you stalk the customers, yeah.'Of course he avoided saying that, so he just smiled shakily as he made his way to the counter, but before he could see anything, Heejin came in running with a slightly pink face.
Was she blushing?
"Heejin what the he-" Kihyun started, but was abruptly cut off when Heejin whispered-yelled. "Boss, we have a problem..."
The man looked concerned, but he just nodded, allowing the girl to finish what she started. "There are... Men... Huge men." Kihyun's lips morphed into a straight line. It was indeed weird to have "huge" men in the restaurant, but he didn't see as much of a problem-
"They're asking if you have any protein pastry. WHAT DO I TELL THEM?!"
Okay, that was indeed a worst-case scenario. Kihyun, carefully pushed Heejin aside, looking through the small crack of the door: There were more bunny gym bros and Kihyun didn't like it. But what Kihyun hated the most, was the fact that Hyunwoo and Hoseok sat down at the same table.
This was a disaster, when did all these people get here? He knew who the responsible was, it's obvious, but Kihyun didn't see them outside before they had opened. This was insane.
"Just hand them the menu and tell them that the only protein we have is the natural one, take it or leave it." Kihyun said as he pressed a wet towel to Heejin's cherry red face. "But take care of your face first, you look like you just ran a marathon." Heejin smiled shyly at that as she couldn't possibly flush more.
After about five minutes, the now composed girl walked out of the kitchen with the menus and thank God Kihyun wasn't there to witness the ordering part because he would have committed murder then and there.
These men changed their mind like underwear and made special requirements that even Heejin had a hard catching up on, it was insane. The only civilized people there were the two men that made Kihyun incredily nervous, both for quite different reasons. Hyunwoo ended up getting a normal sandwich and Hoseok just asked for a glass of water, because according to him, "this is the only good water in town."Such bullshit, he paid for the same service as everyone else, but Kihyun admired Hoseok's dedication to complimenting his... water.
Kihyun closed his eyes as he kept the tears from falling down. These were most nitpicky customers he's ever had. But whatever, work was work and work did him good and the nation's economy. Yeah... The economy.
The man's head was cloudy the ehole time as he chopped the ingredients, cutting his fingers a few times during the process, but after about an hour of cooking, the order was ready and Kihyun dragged his feet into his office, closing the door behind him as he took a mental note to not allow customers to make changes to the menu.
He was about to fall asleep in a very awkward position on his sofa before he heard a soft knock on the door. It was Heejin.
"Sohn Hyunwoo wants to take you out for lunch." That made Kihyun forgive her for waking him up.
It would be just the two of them...
