Brandon (POV)
When I got to Kyonna house I saw her in her bed crying
"What's wrong ?" I asked but got no reply. She didn't even look up so I knew it was serious. I asked my sister Candice, who was rubbing her back.
"Mrs.Kenya died today" she said looking down at her feet
"What? when?" I asked
"Today at 6" she said
"Where's Kendall" I asked them
"She's In her room" Arrd I got her you can leave now I told Candice.
"Kyonna Kyonna Kyonna Bae Baby Babe"
"Where's my daughter" she asked
"She's with my mom, Kyonna you have to talk to me"
"Does it look or sound like I want to talk my mother just died why would I want to talk to you or to anyone for that matter" she said
"I'm sorry I just wanted to see how you was doing" she looked at me like I was stupid
"How do you think im doing ?" She yelled
"That was a dumb question I'm sorry"
"No I'm sorry I shouldn'thave yelled I'm just...."
Before she could finish I held her while she broke down.
*2 Weeks Later*
(Kyonna POV)
Its been two weeks since I heard my moms voice, Its been so hard trying to manage without her especially when all kendall do is talk bout her. Last week was her funeral and so many people came up to me expressing how sorry they felt for my loss. It was irritating having to hear that along with their pitty filled faces embedded in my brain. Brandon has been my rock through all of this while I've been nothing but mean to him, I dont know why though. I guess i was taking my anger out on him because he's keeping my baby from me. Him and his mother thinks that I'm not stable enough to take care of her so shes been at his moms house.
Todays the day we go back to school, I woke up early to make me and kendall some breakfast trying to make our situation as normal as possible. Im a little worried about her, she hasn't really talked to anyone unless shes talking about our mom. All she does is watch tv in her room, it breaks my heart to see her like this.
"Good morning" I said while sitting our plates down
"Im not hungry" she said
"You have to eat Kendall you cant keep doing this" I said
"After she ate we headed out for the day. Remember what I said Kendall" I said
"Yea, yea I remember you dont have to keep repeating it to me" she said
"Well let me hear you repeat it to me"
"Ughhhh, dont say anything to anyone about what goes on in our house. And if anyone asks everything is fine and dont tell anyone our mom is dead because if I do then ill get taken away from you".
"Ok have a good day and remember Brandon is picking you up becasue I have step practice"
** At Practice**
With everything going on with my mom and everything I havent really been engaged with the step squad so I let the Co-captain Tiana, help the girls get ready for the Lakeland competition. We've battled lakeland twice within the last 2 years and everytime we met they try to come harder than they did the time before and last time they came too close to winning and taking our title.
" Yet again, y'all take it as a joke and we will lose. It's not time to slack and get lazy, get up and work like this is your life. Last time we were almost blown out of the water because of one slip up. The judges are serious and are looking for everything to be perfect" Tiana said.
"We gonna try something a little different so pay attention and get it right the first time. The younger ones will start in the back and work their way to the front on key" I said
"Jada, Charis, and Kia stand toward the back and Renee, Casey, and Tamia stand in the middle and make sure all of yall are spaced out so we can see the person behind you and so you have enough room to move. We're gonna go through this once without the music and then once with the music. Tiana said
"This competition is in two weeks so whoever don't have this down or needs help, y'all better either get help by Tiana, one of your team members or myself. You wil not and I repeat will not make us look bad because of your lack of dedication. We will win as a team and leave with the same attitude and dignity as we go and show out. Let that be your reminder becasue you wont get another. Is that understood? I asked
"Yes Kyonna" they all responded and after that we got down to business

(Kendall's POV)
"Brandon what are we having for dinner?"
"I don't know, Ky should be here in a few minutes. She said practice went on a little longer than planned"
" I want tacos, im so tired of having pizza,hotdogs or leftovers" Once I said that Kyonna came in the house with grocery bags and her gym bag.
I grabbed the bags that were in her hand to see if she had the stuff for tacos but she had corn, chicken and some type of rice.
" Ky why didnt you get the taco stuff?" i asked
" Stop being ungrateful and eat what I bring in " she yelled
I ran to where brandon was and asked him to get tacos because I didnt want what she had.
"Yea babygirl let me talk to Kyonna and we can go" he said which made me smile.
I went to get my shoes and my ipad from my room when I kyonna say "Why can't she eat what is put in front of her. Stop spoiling her, that's why she thinks she can always get what she wants."
I Just sat on my bed and thought to myself, If only my mommy was here we wouldnt have to go through this. Brandon came in telling me he was ready to leave.
(Kyonna POV)
While they went out to the store, I sat on the couch feeling worthless holding the last photo album my mom put together with our pictures. I feel like when I try my hardest to make everything work I seem to fail, Kendall never seems to be happy, me and brandon argue over the smallest things, and I have no one here because I haven't talked to Bryce or Candice in a week. I think that's what I need... To talk to my bestie.
Me: Hey Candi
Her: Hey, What you doing?
Me: Waiting for Brandon and Kendall to come back from the store.
Her: Lets go out Friday I havent seen you in a while and I know you need to be out the house.
Me: Okay I'll see you tomorrow in school
Her: Okaay bye
Ten minutes later Brandon and Kendall came in with taco bell and our daughter Miyah
"Heyy Miya" I said like she can respond
"Mama" she said
"I missed you so much" I said as I held her
"Mama Mama" she babbled as she showed me the puppy sticker on her hand
"I thought yall was going to the store not taco bell" I said trying to maintain my frustration
"Ky, Calm down we got you some too. It's not that big of a deal." Brandon told me
"That's not the point, you spent more money at taco bell then you would have at the grocery store. Plus you have to go to work tomorrow which means you will need gas money. She would have been just fine eating what we have here. Stop letting her fool you she eats everything we have here, she just decides to be picky and you allow it." I spat back
"You really need to chill, I just said it's nothing to stress over. I still have money for work tomorrow and some. You worry too much which causes us to argue more than anything. Baby it's cool, I love you. " Brandon said
"I love you too "
