Chapter 14

Family

I stayed. Longer than expected. I always go to the hospital everyday after school. Well, I don't want my studies to be ruined because Jisoo will be surely be mad at me for that.

Today I am at her Hospital Room. Watching her sleep. Seeing her being so peaceful like this? It makes me wonder what she did wrong to have this illness.

Is this what you take after you give kindness?

Then suddenly I felt a movement in her hand since I am holding it. "Jisoo?" I asked. She opened her eyes and the first thing she saw was me.

"Are you okay? Does something hurt?" I asked kinda panicking.

"I am fine." She coldly said. She was looking at me with those cold eyes of hers. I just.. I can handle her cold eyes but seeing her in this condition, I can't.

"Jisoo.. Look. Both of us knew how long you last and we want to make those last days happy with you. You can be cold or what but please let us make you happy once again." I said and sighed heavily as I feel her hand grabbed my hand.

I was about to lift my head up when she suddenly speak "Don't you dare lift your head up." She said so I immediately look down once again.

"You can do everything as you please." She said. I gave myself a sad smile knowing that she doesn't care anymore.

"Thank you.." I whispered. "You got it now, Go and leave." She said while removing her grip to my hand.

"Yes, We'll see you tomorrow then.." I said.

We actually planned that one person everyday. So I won't be seeing her for 19 days since I'll visit her at the 20th day and we'll gather here at the 21st day.

- NEXT DAY -

"Oh hey Jin. How's Jisoo?" Suho asked. "You'll visit her tomorrow, What's the point of asking?" I asked out of jealousy. He just chuckled.

"Oh come on dude. I mean yeah you're right but why can't I know her condition today hm?" He asked with that teasing smile of his.

I just shook my head and went in my classroom. I was just quiet while all of them are making noises.

For the whole class, I was zoning out. I even got a punishment for not paying attention to the lesson.

"Stand up Straight Mr. Kim!" Our professor shouted. I am at the hallways, Standing straight with three heavy books both in my hands while I do a T pose.

I kinda feel the numbness since I am standing here for 30 minutes. I wonder what Jisoo is doing and if she's a little better than before.

Irene is the first one to visit. The next will be Suho. The third one will be Jennie and more.

After an hour and a half, I finally got away from my punishment. My shoulders and arms are sore.

I sighed.

"You okay?"

I look up to see Suho holding two cans of coca-cola. "Is it obvious?" I asked with a sarcastic tone.

"Come on. Stop being jealous. She doesn't really like me." Suho said. My face kind of lit up when he said that.

"How would you know that?" I asked. "Do you not trust me? I've been a very loyal friend ever since. I know whom she really love." Suho said as he hands me over one coca-cola can.

I grabbed it, opened it and drink.

"What do you mean? She doesn't like anyone but she do LOVE someone?" I asked to make things clear.

Then he whispered something. "Are you saying something?" I asked. He shook his head.

"It's someone both of us knew." He said. Someone both of us knew? What? So it's really our friend also?

How unlucky of me then.

"You sure you don't want to wait with me for the train? I mean if you don't wait with me, you'll be waiting for an hour for the train we both take arrives." Jennie asked. I sighed and nods.

"Okay then." She said and was about to go out of the classroom when suddenly she stopped at the doorway. I was facing her back.

"Don't overthink too much. Maybe she can live. There's a chance that she can. And the one she loves will surely be the one who will be very heartbroken when things don't work on her." Jennie said. I was so confused then she left me.

"Will be the one who will be very heartbroken? Does the one she loves, loves her back?" I ask to myself while walking to my way to the station. It's currently 7:30 in the evening and the train will arrive at 8:00.

As I was walking it started to rain. I am wearing a hoodie so I put on my hood and run faster than expected. I arrived the station and I was wet as hell.

But who cares? No one will scold me.

I waited for the train to arrive. When it arrives, There's only a few people left and all of them are looking at me in pity. Are they.. pitying me?

I was devastated knowing that they thought of me as a man who should receive pity from other people.

No one loves me as much as I love other people. I mean I do have friends but I feel like they also pity me.

I just didn't look at them and just opened my phone. As I opened my phone I saw a notification.

Unknown Number
Seokjin, This is Aunt Jane. Come to our house, Eat dinner here. Don't you dare say no to me. You're like a family so go.

I look at my phone. I started to tear up. I noticed that I am crying when small liquids were falling in my phone screen.

Why did I cry all of the sudden?

I may not received enough love from my parents and friends, But who knew that a stranger would come and text me to eat dinner with them and calls me a part of a family. No one has ever did this to me.

Once I arrived their home, It feels like I am actually at home.

Aunt Jane's cousin was guarding Jisoo at the hospital since Jisoo doesn't want to see her mother, brother and even me. But she doesn't want to see ONLY us.

I removed my wet hoodie. I saw Aunt Jane hurrying to me. "Why are you wet?! Did you run in the rain?! Aigoo, You'll be sick!" Aunt Jane said. I don't know but.. I just hugged her all of a sudden as I felt tears falling down.

"Yah, Jin-ah? Are you okay? Why are you crying? If it's about Jisoo, Stop it you're making me cry too!" Aunt Jane said as I feel her movements like she is also tearing up.

"Thank you for being my family." I said as I sob.
