Chapter 5

Birthday Party

I am now at home. I am already set for the night to sleep. I opened my phone and saw a lot of messages. It's like this everyday.

Then suddenly my phone rings.

I looked at the caller's ID. It's Mary. My childhood bestfriend and.. ex.

I answered the call.

"Jinnie!"

"Mary. Long time no talk huh?" I answered. Well, she broke up with me when I was about to go to Japan but we're still friends.

"Yeah! I know right! But guess what?!"

"What?" I asked.

"I'll be at the same school and apartment building with you!!"

"WHAT?!" I shouted then I realized what I just did and closed my mouth with my hand.

"What? Not happy to see me? Are you still mad because I broke up with you..?"

She sounded.. Sad?.

"O-Of course no. I already moved on dumbass" I said. She laughed.

"Glad to hear then. If you want to know the real reason why I broke up with you.. I'll tell you in my birthday."

Her birthday is on next month. That's far. Why should I wait for something that isn't that important anymore right..?

"Sure." I answered.

I am still curious you know?

"Well then. Oyasumi" (Good Night)

"Un." (Yes) I said and ended up the call.

What is this. Am I still sad about what happened to us years ago?

I sighed. I just closed my eyes until I fell asleep.

Today's saturday. Jisoo's brother's birthday. I am already done dressing up since I was planning to go early in the morning to buy a gift and help them organize because there will be her brother's classmates and friends attending.

Yesterday, I already told Aunt Jane that I'll be helping them. She told if it's that's what I want then I should do it.

Jisoo asked me if she could come with me to grab a birthday present for her brother and I agreed.

I am now walking to go to their house since their house is near.
