Chapter Seven: The Fate of Danolo

So sorry I haven't updated in a while! I have had serious writer's block and busy with high school. Got one more month until I'm done with HS. The picture is of Eliena. So here's Chapter Seven, enjoy!

"Dad, Danolo is a good man. Does he really have to die? He did it out of love for his sister, yeah the way he did it was terrible but..." Jeremy chuckled.
"Going soft on me Ballad? Never thought that would ever happen." He teased as he moved his hand from the shift to ruffle his son's hair.
"Dad, stop it. And I'm not going soft." He smoothed his hair back down. They then pulled into headquarters. They got out and headed inside.
"Yo Steel! Danolo is on the same room." Ballad smiled, his dad had earned the name 'Steel' years ago before he had met his wife, Bella May, he was a ruthless member and had a nerve of steel. Hence the name, even now more than twenty years later his reputation precedes him and people still call him Steel. His mom was a country girl that moved to the city for a new life, but she had moved into the wrong neighborhood. One night, she had gotten attacked and was saved by Jeremy.
"Thanks Luca, tell Sarah I said hi."
"Sure man, you should come over and see Mianni, she's one month old now." Luca was Jeremy's college roommate and best friend, they had stuck through everything together. Especially when Bella May's controlling brother came to the city to look for her. Sarah was now Bella May's best friend and she was able to go through college because her brother hadn't let her.
"I'll bring Maybelle with me. She'll enjoy seeing Sarah again." Jeremy followed by Ballad then walked down the hallway that lead to the room that Danolo currently occupied. Jeremy turned to his son,
"Now Ballad, Danolo's fate is already decided. Boss told me because of Eliena that Dan isn't going to die. He'll just be confined. While Eliena has Samaael, she needs her brother. Although Dan doesn't know that right now." Ballad nodded with a slight smile and took the key from his father's hand and unlocked the door and walked in.
"Hey Dan, how you doing?" Ballad greeted as Jeremy closed the door after he walked in. Danolo looked at Ballad with a are-you-serious look and Ballad laughed. Then got up from the bed he was sitting on and walked towards them.
"I'm not really sure, death is imminent." Danolo chuckled humourlessly. Ballad clasped an arm around his shoulder,
"It's gonna be fine bro. Nothing bad is gonna happen, although it is for Eliena's sake instead of yours." Ballad said and Danolo's eyes widened.
"Ballad's right. You aren't gonna die, although you will be confined to Headquarters. This room will your room from now on. And Eliena and Samaael are bringing your stuff here." Then there was a knock on the door. Ballad smiled.
"The door's open." A few seconds later, a blonde head peeked through and Ballad laughed, "we're not going to bite. I promise, Samaael might beat us if we did." Danolo's eyes widened yet again. Eliena walked in with a smile on her face when she saw her brother.
"Danny!" She then ran and gave him a hug, Danolo was a bit slow to respond because he was still in shock then he folded his arms around her and returned the embrace. "I'm glad you're safe, I was worried. I know that it is a part of the gang life and business, but you're my brother. No matter how well I know the rules, I don't want my brother killed." She buried her head in his chest, "I love you Danny." Danolo smiled and stroked her hair.
"I love you too Elie."

"Cas?" Aliana lifted her head from Cassiel's chest to look at him. Half an hour ago, she had come back inside from playing with Chessiza because Chessiza wanted to go read. Aliana had come in and crawled onto Cassiel's lap wanting to cuddle with him. She then just laid in his arms totally content.
"Yeah, Ali?" Cassiel smiled down at her, it seemed that they were in a period of bliss as he finally broke down and confessed to her.
"Where will I sleep?"
"With me, of course." He smirked, and she hit his chest, "ow, woman."
"I'm serious..." She replied laying her head back down on his chest and bunched his shirt in her hands. He stroked her hair and kissed her forehead.
"Sorry. In your old bedroom, but I would like to sleep with my girl by my side." Aliana smiled, when she was younger, she has come over so often because she hated being at home. So she got her own room at their house. Then the front door opened,
"I got your clothes Anni." Morain said as he walked in, "I'll put them in your room, alright?"
"Thanks Rain, much appreciated." Morain then went upstairs to place the duffel bag in her room and came back down. "You look so gloomy, let's play Mario Kart." Aliana smiled as Morain turned on the Wii, the TV, and grabbed the controllers them sat down on the couch and handed out the controllers.
"Thanks Rain." Aliana turned on her controller and moved off of Cassiel's lap because they got pretty competitive.
"Thanks man." Cassiel kissed her cheek, "gonna try to beat you this time."
"You wish Cas." Aliana smiled

Jeremy and Ballad got home and they heard a shout,
"Yes!!!! You cannot defeat me!!!" They looked at each other with surprise as they walked into the living room to see Aliana pumping her fist in the air. "I am undefeatable!"
"That you are Ana." Jeremy laughed. Aliana froze as she looked towards the voice and flushed in embarrassment.
"Uh...hi Jeremy..." She whispered then sat down next to Cassiel as the room roared in laughter at her embarrassment. Cassiel then enveloped her in his arms and kissed the top of her head. Jeremy then left to go to his study. Ballad took Morain's.
"I got to go to the shop and prepare for the night crowd and beat poetry." Morain smiled slightly as he went to get ready, "see you all later."
"Aliana! Can I have your help?" Bella May asked as she went and hugged Morain before he left.
"Mom, why must you hug me each time I leave?"
"You're my boy and I love you." Aliana watched the scene with a smile.
"Ugh...I love you too Mom." He pulled away and left.
"I'll help you Bella May." She giggled and followed Bella May into the kitchen.

"Get down here Aliana!" Jiel shouted. Aliana with a frightened face made her way to the living room from her bedroom.
"Yes Daddy?" She whispered.
"Where the fuck is your mother?!"
"She's still at work, she texted me saying that she was stuck in traffic." A loud sound resounded in the room as Jiel slapped Aliana. She whimpered,
"Daddy....that hurt."
"Good, it means that you are alive." The front door then opened, "oh look, the bitch is home. About time."
"Jiel, honey. I was stuck in traffic."
"Bullshit! I got Victor breathing down my neck, you can't go where you want!" He then slapped her hard enough that Linda fell down to the hardwood floor. Aliana slowly backed up from her father to go hide in her room before she tripped and suddenly saw him behind her. "Where do you think you are going Aliana?" He raised his fist and screamed as she was shaken awake.
"It's okay Ali, you are alright now." She opened her eyes and saw Cassiel sitting next to her. She climbed into his lab and sobbed. Bella May rushed in with everyone behind her and they all sported worried faces as they looked at Aliana curled in Cassiel's arms.
"Yes, she's alright now. She had a nightmare. Go back to bed, I got her." He smiled down at her as he wrapped his arms tightly around her and laid them down.
"Cas..." Aliana whimpered as she buried her head in his chest.
"Alright, good night." Jeremy said as he ushered everyone out before closing the door. Cassiel pulled the blankets up to cover them and kissed her cheek.
"Sleep Ali, I'm right here. I'll protect you." There was the faintest nod from Aliana and she closed her eyes. Cassiel smiled and closed his eyes as well and let sleep take him over.
