━━━━━♥♠♣♦━━━━━Tokyo Skytree wasn't exactly what Yumie had planned to visit on the daily. She'd seen it around when she went shopping and walked around Tokyo for no apparent reason. In her life, she'd visited the building about once or twice. It wasn't of much importance to her because she saw it every day, but isn't it always like that? The more exposure you experience the less you are affected by something, whether it be a negative or positive thing.
In that way, Tokyo Skytree was similar to the games. The more Yumie became exposed to them, the less she was bothered by it. It was becoming similar to her job as a criminal psychologist, just with the addition of a life-or-death situation.
Tadami had stolen a pair of binoculars from some random store they had come across during an investigation of an area they thought the organization could possibly be. The organization was not there, but at least they acquired a tool that would help them with the search.
He now used the binoculars to get a closer look at the small building below. It would be better if they had a telescope, though. Binoculars could only go so far.
"Should we join the game tonight?" Yumie asked, looking at the dark buildings of Tokyo. Everything was the same as it was the past five days. Of course, nothing would change. This place was abandoned, and with abandonment comes neglect. Then with neglect comes... nothing. Nothing will be done if no one ends the neglect. No growth will happen.
Yumie's professor had said something of the sort during one of her first few classes in college. It really stuck with her, as she felt as if she resonated with it. That specific unit had been on why criminals became criminals and why others did not.
"We have four days, no?" Tadami questioned, wondering why she wanted to participate in a game so soon.
The boy brought the binoculars down to look over at the girl who shrugged in reply.
"Thrill seeker."
Tadami shook his head and placed the binoculars down on a ledge. "Lies, we both know you don't like thrill when it comes with an expense."
She placed her chin on the palm of her hand, leaning her elbow on the ledge. "I think that talking to others is a better approach when it comes to situations like these. I hate relying on others, but it's better than taking an area and investigating alone. It's not ideal and time is limited."
The boy just smiled at her, which inevitably pissed her off. Getting stared at was something she truly did not enjoy, and Tadami knew this as well. "Stop staring, weird ass."
"Just glad I have a smart ass here with me," he answered playfully.
Yumie glanced at him. "But you're smart yourself? And my reasoning isn't logic, it's pure common sense."
"Yeah, and some people lack that common sense," Tadami shrugged.
The girl looked at him with a straight face. "Just admit you're smart and stop trying to drag this out."
Tadami laughed in defeat. "I, Tadami Ueno, am a person whose intelligence can challenge Albert Einst-"
"Never mind, you're pretty stupid," Yumie grumbled, grabbing the binoculars to peer at the lifeless buildings. Or maybe they weren't lifeless and other players were hiding in there.
