Sighing for the umpteenth time that day, Yeosang does his best to maintain his focus on the show that was randomly playing on the TV. His mind still replaying the events that happened last night.
When he reached the Choi residence, he got greeted by a sniffling Sungho who ran straight into the older's arms. The older had allowed for Eunhui to stay the night and that she could take his guest room since he would be sleeping next to the boy. It wasn't until the following morning that Yeosang had received a message from the Choi parents that they would be coming home, Sungho frowned at the news since he wouldn't be seeing the older for a while, but Yeosang reminded him that he could always call him, and that they will see each other soon enough. Those words were enough for a smile to break free on the child's face, and that he continued to eat his breakfast.
Though, one thing was still was bothering him.
Jongho.
Yeosang didn't see the male come home before he and Eunhui left the Choi's place, so he was left with his thoughts to figure out what happened to him. The babysitter knew that Jongho was going after him when he was leaving the school, so the older was thankful that the younger didn't catch up to him since he didn't knew what he would say to the male. That being said, the babysitter could only wait until Monday to see how Jongho was handling the situation.
Reaching for the remote beside him, Yeosang turns off the TV and heads to his room. Deciding that a nap would probably help him clear his mind for a while. But, before he could even get away from the couch, someone starts banging on his apartment door like a mad man.
"Open up Kang Yeosang! You have some tea that needs spilling!" Heaving out a sigh with a matching eye roll. The male goes to his door and opens it with a bored look.
"You know, one of these days my door will break because of you banging on it instead of giving it a soft knock or I don't know, use the doorbell" Yeosang crosses his arms on his chest as he stares at Wooyoung. The younger waving off the sarcasm and invites his self in the older's apartment.
"Well I'm already used to banging on it, so there's nothing we could do about that. However, my dear friend. I am here to discuss some important matters with you" Wooyoung settles on the couch, already used to the place. Yeosang closes the door and goes over to the couch, taking the seat next to the male. Yeosang has a solid idea on why the younger came waltzing in his home. Though, the older pretends to be clueless. Not quite ready to talk about what happened last night.
"Your wedding plans with San?" The older places his arm on the backrest of the sofa, letting his head be supported by his hand.
"Not that, but Sannie did promised that we'll get to that talk next year. I'm talking about your little rendezvous with Jongho last night" Wooyoung wiggles his eyebrows towards the male. Yeosang could only give the younger a bittersweet smile at the memory. It wasn't exactly a bad thing nor was it a good one either, he just wished that he could have left Jongho on a better note.
The younger picks up on the sudden change of mood. Instead of him teasing the older, it looks like he's about to comfort him.
"Why the face? I thought you guys would be a couple after last night" Wooyoung's voice had a hint of amusement, trying to salvage some of the good mood from earlier. However, when Yeosang only sighed and let his head fall on the back cushions of the couch, Wooyoung knew that something was up.
"Okay, what happened last night?" The younger stayed silent and patient, letting the babysitter gather his thoughts before he spoke.
"When I arrived at the party, I looked around to see where you guys were. And when I saw Jongho sitting alone on one of the tables, I may have stared too much that I just ran when he wanted to confront me. So I went to the roof, not knowing that he followed me. And one thing led to another, we were dancing and almost kissed, I got a call from Eunhui, and then I just left him"
Yeosang lets his word sink in for the younger to understand, his gaze falling to his knee that was on the couch. After a minute or two, Wooyoung finally finished processing what the older said.
"You almost kissed!?"
"That's what you got? Out of everything I said? Really?"
"Of course it is! You've been crushing on Jongho since freshman year and you two barely get any action in, so with the information that you two almost kissed has got to be the highlight of it all" Yeosang groans and plants his face in a pillow that he grabbed beside him.
"Why are you being like that? Isn't this suppose to be a good thing?"
"Not really" The babysitter's words were muffled because of the pillows. The younger tilts his head in curiosity, still not understanding why the older was being this way. Yeosang removes his face from the pillow, showing a frustrated look on his face.
"He doesn't know that it was me" Another silence followed them. The older letting his words hang in the air. Wooyoung should really change the way with how he reacts to these things.
"What do you mean he doesn't know?" The younger's eyebrows furrow together once again. His mind almost short circuiting because of how perplexing his friend's night was.
"I had my mask on the entire night, and I didn't tell him my name, and I don't plan on telling him that the masked person he met was me"
Yeosang abruptly gets up from the couch, startling the younger. Wooyoung follows his friend to the kitchen. He stands near the kitchen counter, watching the older as he grabs himself a glass of water, downing it as quickly as he could making some droplets drip past the side of his lips. The older wipes the excess with the back of his hand, taking a seat on a nearby stool, getting the feeling that his water was more of an alcoholic drink. Oh how he wishes to be drunk instead of talking about last night.
"And why won't you tell him?" Wooyoung said softly. Testing his chances if his friend would react badly. Yeosang sighs, his fingers brushing his hair back, only for them to softly fall back on his forehead.
"Because I'm afraid... I'm afraid that our friendship would go down the drain because I lied to him about going to the party and leaving his brother with someone else instead of taking care of him, and I'm afraid because he likes someone else"
The confession was enough for Wooyoung to go closer to the older and give him a comforting hug. He could feel his shirt getting wet as his friend silently cried into his stomach, though he didn't care. His focus was helping the male let out some of that pent up emotions.
Wooyoung felt bad for his friend, this crush of Yeosang's was making him so vulnerable. The younger only hopes for things to start turning out for the better.
