Welcome to Necromunda - you hapless suckers.

The world you are about to enter is like nothing found here on Earth in the present day, thank the Golden Throne. For those uninitiated, Necromunda is a Hive World that supplies the majority of arms and ammunition to the Imperium of Man. What is a Hive World? It is a Planet covered in Hive Cities. What is a Hive? It is a man-made Termite mound, teaming with untold billions of lives in it - most of which are not human.... at least, not anymore. Just imagine all the largest metropolises on Earth current, smash them together, and then build them vertically with all of their population, crime, and corruption set to maximum. That should give you the briefest idea of what - at least - a normal Hive is like. If you want to know more, then there are plenty of YouTubers who have made whole careers off the Warhammer 40K lore.

This story takes place in Hive Primus, the Palatine Hive. The capital of Necromunda and where most stories set on this world takes place - because no one ever talks about the misfortune that befell Hive Secundus and for good reason. Hive Primus is so large that they can have other, smaller, cities, settlements, and towns within it, and the one that is the focus on in this story is called Tradesberg. The main idea for Tradesberg stemmed from three other properties. The first was Mordheim, a Warhammer Fantasy Battle - back when it could be called that - board, and later turn-based videogame, where bands of brave - or extremely foolish - adventurers would go into the cursed city of Mordheim to find riches and powerful Warpstone... While also trying to fight off Chaos warbands, Skavens, other adventures, and an immortal bard with a Dwarf Slayer that is too angry to die. The second comes from Gangs of New York, the Martin Scorsazi film loosely based around the real-life Gangs that called New York City home in and the late 19th century. Going around with colorful names like Dead Rabbits, Bourey Boys, Plug Uglies, and Swamp Rats just to name a few. If you would like to know more than I suggest reading Five Points by Tyler Anbinder. The final comes from the Cyberpunk genera, where human life is based on how much money you can make and guns can come from vending machines. Properties like Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson and Cyberpunk roleplaying and videogame by Mike Pondsmith helped shape most of this world and the gangs that live in it.

You as the readers are free to comment and review on any grammatical or pacing errors. I do have a plan in mind of where this story will go, however, I am open to suggestions. All I ask in return is to be respectful, and you will receive it in kind. You are allowed to like this story, you are allowed to not like this story. The decision is always in your hands.

The Necromunda: Hive War setting and Warhammer 40K property are all owned by Games Workshop. Tradesberg, character and events are mine.
