Chapter 14

General Pov:

It's been a couple of days since they left outer banks and they were getting ready to leave that island. "Alright everyone get on the boat, we should have enough gas to get us home." John B said helping Sarah onto the boat. Her back was still sore from the fight. Although Kie seemed fine she still couldn't forget about what she did to Razan. "You alright?" JJ asked, noticing how she's been dozing off. "Hm." Kie said shaking her head a little. "Yea of course I'm fine, I'm just happy to go home." Kie said resting her head in her hands.

John B started the boat and they started heading towards outer banks. "Guys I'm hungry." JJ said rubbing his rumbling stomach. "What do you want us to do about that?" Pope asked raising an eyebrow. "Sorry." JJ said rolling his eyes before falling asleep. "Guys we're getting really low on gas." John B said obviously starting to worry. "You said we had enough to get us home." Sarah said walking to see how much gas they had left. "Aren't we close though." Kie said walking next to Sarah. "We should be." John B said looking around them. "I guess we'll just have to see what happens." Pope says shrugging his shoulders. "Ugh." Kie said.

"Omg how did this boat not run out of gas yet?" Pope asked after hours of silence. "Don't jinx it!" JJ said. "Wait I think I can see obx." John B said squinting his eyes. "OMG WE MADE IT FINALLY!!!" JJ shouted jumping out of his seat.
"No one said we made it we can just see it." Pope said rolling his eyes again. "I mean we are pretty close." John B said.

"Ok guys when we reach obx we're gonna head for Kie's house, in hopes that her parents aren't home." John B said as they made it to obx. They all got off the boat and headed straight for Kie's house. "Guys we haven't eaten in days I'm starving." JJ said rubbing his stomach. "Can you please just wait till we get to Kie's house." Pope said face palming. "Guys we have trouble." Sarah said pointing to a cop car. In the cop car was two cops. "They said they found a dead body in the Routledge house." One of the cops said. They whole group fell silent. "Do you they're heading for the chaetaeu right now?" Kie asked turning to the others. "Most likely." John B said, watching the car drive out of sight. "Ugh, we're still so far from Kie's house!" JJ said. "Please JJ be patient." Pope groaned.

"Guys look there's the house." Sarah said. When they all looked there was her house. "FINALLY!" JJ yelled raising his hands and running to the house. "Wait, my parents might still be there." Kie said grabbing JJ's collar. They all slowly walked towards the house. Kie checked inside and turns out her parents weren't home. When they reached the inside of the house JJ went straight for the kitchen. "My god Kie y'all have so much food." JJ said stuffing his face with food. "Ok guys we need a plan for when my parents get home" Kie said rolling her eyes at JJ. "We could just hide in your room until everything dies down and then we can go to the cops and tell them everything." John B said shrugging while eating with JJ.
"Oh yea and they're totally gonna believe us." Pope said sarcastically while rolling his eyes.
