After Whitney got booed for being a sell out she wanted a change. Clive was also upset about this he agreed to change Whitney and cross over to black audiences. Whitney always support Black Community so she wanted to show her people she were there for them. She soon became her two album "I'm Your Baby Tonight."  It included her great hits All the man I need, my name is not Susan and I belong to you. She ultimately got the black audience after the album was released. The tops songs were written and produced by LA REID AND BABYFACE they had a new sound called the new jack swing it was of the black industry. They worked with all the top black entertainers in the business like Toni Braxton, TLC and Bobby brown.

After Whitney 26 birthday, Bobby looked at Whitney different he got a chance to really talked to and liked her as a person. Bobby knew she was beautiful but he never saw her up close and when he did she made him a little nervous he admitted it in a interview. Bobby was very arrogant in the 80s I mean can you blame him he left a platinum multi group new edition and went platinum solo. Couple weeks after the Whitney 's party Bobby was in deep thought he was high and was drinking the night before he had been dating pop star Janet Jackson behind close doors but Janet didn't want anyone to know and this hurt Bobby so he eventually cut it off with her.

Bobby got inspired to called Whitney one day they had exchanged information at her birthday but he hadn't talk to her since. Bobby had a feeling that Whitney was into him he even told his New Edition members that she was on him and flirted with him. They didn't believe Whitney Houston would be interested in him. So He nervously asked her out on a date. "If I asked you to go out on a date would you say yes?" Whitney laughed "yes I certainly would." Their first date was at the movies they went to see a film called Uncle Buck. Whitney realized her and Bobby had a lot in common they both liked John Candy movies so they enjoyed the movie, she liked how he treated her like a lady and didn't treat her like the pop star she was. Bobby enjoyed being around Whitney he still couldn't believe he was out with Whitney Houston he felt like he was the man. He was very charming and they had so much in common their conversations didn't get dull. Towards the end of the date neither wanted it to end, Bobby dropped Whitney off at her hotel but before she went up chairs they shared a soft kiss Whitney kissed him long enough that he could inhale her breath, feel the warmth of her skin, and the taste of her lipstick lingered far after she had gone. Bobby was amazed he thought Whitney was a great kisser and wanted more but didn't want to push up on her so he ended it there but couldn't stop thinking about her after it. Clearly there was something happening between them.

Whitney got back to her hotel with butterflies in her stomach smiling ear to ear. She touched her lips smiling ear from ear remembering the kiss her and Bobby shared. "Why you smiling so hard" Robyn said as she walked in. "Oh nothing" Whitney said as she tried to laugh it off. Robyn asked her how was Bobby and she said he treated her nice and she think she will go out with him again. When Whitney first met Bobby she just wanted a friendship but for some reason something happened when they were together. Every time she thought about Bobby she blushed. "Isn't he really young?" Robyn asked. Whitney laughed and nodded her head. Whitney didn't care about his age or about who he was she just loved the way he treated her on the date he was very attentive and patient with her no man had ever treated her like that besides John Houston her father.
