Chapter Two

I woke up with a searing headache. I looked around, which was painful, and I noticed that I was laying in a bed. I see a huge window to my left and I can see the beach, which was a beautiful sight. It looked around one or two o' clock in the afternoon. I look to my left to see a door, which was closed, and a nightstand right by the bed. I lay my head back down on the soft pillow and stare up at the ceiling.

'Where am I?' I wonder to myself. I lift up the blankets and noticed I'm still in my black hoodie and red shorts, but no shoes. I let the blanket lightly float back down to my body, keeping me warm.

I take one more look around and I notice that this room looks almost exactly like my room. I know it's not mine because these are not my black sheets or my red comforter.

I try to sit up but the pain in my head is too unbearable. I lay back down just as the door opens, revealing one of my strange neighbors. He was the one with the mohawk and sunglasses. 'Is it really necessary to wear those inside?'

"Woah there Speedy Gonzalez, slow down," he says. He sits at the foot of the bed.

"Where am I?" I ask. "I know there were more people, where are they?"

"They went to go get a few things in town, and I think you know where you are," he responds.

What is with everyone thinking that I know more than I actually do? "No I don't.. Could you please tell me?"

"You live across the hall, remember?"

So I'm in their apartment.. Okay. "Yeah, I remember, but who are you, what am I doing here, and what happened?"

"I'm pretty sure you remember what happened before you lost consciousness. So I'm just gonna start with what happened after you did loose it. I carried you to the car, where Lui patched you up just enough for the car ride. We arrived here and I again carried you to this bed.. My bed to be exact. I've been sleeping on the couch in the living room. He examined you and concluded that you just had a mild concussion, but will be fine. We just want you to take it easy for a few days and get plenty of rest."

"Okay, just a few questions. One: Who are you? Yeah, you still haven't answered that question. Two: Who's Lui? Three: What do you mean by examined me? And four: Why do you care about my condition and if I'll be fine or not?"

"For now, you will know me as Moo Snuckel, or just Moo. Lui is our gang's doctor, and one of our closest friends, one of the very few we can trust. Everyone in the gang lives in this apartment. He's the one that wears the monkey mask with the cigar. And by 'examined,' I don't mean like he took your clothes off or anything, just took a quick look over you for any other injuries. And for the last question, I'll have the leader tell you that reason later when you're in better shape. Is there anything else you wish to know?"

"Can I ask about everyone else? I mean, I've only seen you all just a few times, but I might as well get to know your names at least. So who is the one with the thick Irish accent?"

"Oh, that's Daithi de Nogla, or just Nogla."

"Is he with that girl that loves green?"

"Yes, her name is Trinity."

"Okay, who's the one with the tuxedo and yellow flip flops?"

"Mini Ladd or just Mini."

"The pig man?"

"Wildcat."

"Blue hoodie, hockey mask?"

"Delirious."

"The other monkey?"

"Basically."

"Basically what?"

"No, that's his name, Basically."

"Oh, okay, umm... The girl that loves foxes?"

"Her name is Lomasi, which I'm just gonna go ahead and say it, but I think she has a thing for Lui. Also, her brother is the leader."

The leader, I wonder why I didn't ask about him first.. Maybe because.. Oh god.. Is he really the leader. I guess there's no other way to find out than to just ask him. "So the leader, is he the one with the owl masks?"

"Yes, his name is Vanoss."

Vanoss. Moo. Basically. Wildcat. Delirious. Mini. Lui. Lomasi. Trinity. Nogla. Most of these don't sound like real names..

"Those are not all of your guys' real names. What are they? And why do most of you wear masks?"

"You're right, most of them aren't our real names. We don't tell people our real names until we know we can actually trust them. Same with the masks. We'll wear them around you until we know we can trust you. Some of us use our real names and don't wear masks though. I guess because it's not really necessary. But we do this so we can use our real names and not wear masks out in public and not get noticed and jumped by other gangs."

"Smart. But what about me? What is so special about me?"

"I told you, the leader and you will discuss that later. Don't worry about that. He'll talk to you when he thinks you're ready, okay?"

"Okay." I take another look around, forgetting about the pain until it shoots through my spine. I wince and Moo says, "Be careful." He helps me lay back down into a comfortable position, then asks, "Can I get you anything to eat or drink. You've been out of it for two days. You're probably hungry, and you need to eat"

I think, 'Two days!?' "Uh, sure.. Just a glass of water would be fine, thanks."

"Okay, so one glass of water and a big plate of spaghetti." He gets up from his spot on the bed and heads to the door.

"I just said a glass of water!" I yell after him.

"I'm sorry, I can't hear you, you're breaking up!" He yells back running to the kitchen.

"We're not talking on cell phones!"

"Yes we are!"

"Then where's my cell phone?!"

"Wow! I can't believe you already lost yours!"

"I didn't loose anything!!" But it was already too late to try to persuade him. He came back after a few minutes with a big glass of water and a huge plate of spaghetti. My eyes go wide at the sudden sight of food. He chuckles, sets the food down on the nightstand to help me sit up, and hands me the plate and glass. Not wanting to seem like a pig, I slowly start to eat, enjoying the flavors that dance across my tongue. "Thank you Moo."

"No problem, the others should be getting here in about an hour, so take all the time you'd like. I've already eaten. If you need anything, just yell, as I can tell you're already good at that." He gives me a wink. "I'll be cleaning up the apartment before everyone gets here, even though it was Delirious's turn to clean. Oh well."

He walks out of the room, leaving the door slightly open incase I need him. So far, he seems sweet. I think when everyone gets here and I can hopefully walk, I'll be sticking right by his side, at least until I get to know and talk to everyone else.

-----------------

Hey!! It's me again!! I hope you liked this chapter, I guess it's a kind of a filler chapter, with all the characters. But I'd like to say one thing, I hate author's notes. So if I do an A/N, I'll at least have a mini chapter with it. And the title of the chapter will be the chapter number and A/N. For example, if I was going to put an A/N at the end of chapter ten, then the title of the chapter would be: Chapter Ten; A/N. If any of this makes any sense.. I hope it does. Also, I probably won't be able to update tomorrow. I've got to brainstorm and I'm spending the night with my grandma, and if I use my phone too much to update, it takes up data, so I'll be able to reply and talk to you guys, but not update.. I'm super sorry...

But thank you so much for reading and I will see you... In the next chapter.. BYYEE!!!!!
