Chapter Eighteen

I don't know what to think.. I'm happy that they want me to stay here permantly, but should I? I mean, I just got to know everyone.. I would love to.. I get butterflies in my stomach as I think of how to talk again.

I smile really big. "I'd love to."

Everyone jumps up, and starts cheering. I'm dragged up to my feet by Moo, and he encases me in a hug, while spinning me around. I laugh, and so does he. He puts me down, and I'm so dizzy that I almost lost my balance. I regained it, and I'm turned around by Vanoss.

"Thank you.. I'm so glad that you agreed to stay here MacKenzie.." He wraps his arms around my waist, and I wrap mine around his neck. Even though he's taller than me, it's not uncomfortable.. It feels.. Just right. I feel like I belong here. I feel like that I have found my second place that I can call home.. First being back in Texas with my mom. I get a feeling inside me, it's unexplainable.. It's like a mix of happiness and.. Comfort.

Delirious comes up to me, and instead of hugging me, he throws me over his shoulder. He runs around the living room and kitchen while I hit his back, though it's no use. He runs back to the couches, and tosses me like a rag doll, but gently onto the couch. He runs back to his friends, and I just sit, watching everyone celebrate. I see Lui talking with Wildcat about something, it looks like he's nervous. I wonder what about. The girls come up to me.

"Are you excited?" Lomasi asks, seeming more happy than everyone else.

I look at her. "I am, but I don't think I'm as excited as you, Lomasi." She smiles, and I know the reason behind that smile.

I look at Trinity. "Now the next thing you need to do is go get that boy!" Of course she would say something like that..

I shake my head no.. "I don't know if he likes me.." I whisper to her. "I don't want to embarrass myself." She nods, indicating that she understands.

Wildcat comes over just as everyone is settling down. "So since you're gonna stay here, you need to learn how to hold and fire a weapon, and fight. Would you please come with me while everyone else does something productive here?" I tilt my head to the side, and he knows what I'm wondering about. "It's a surprise, and you'll found out when we get back. But first, I think Lui has a surprise of his own."

He looks to Lui, who suddenly and slowly, stands up. This must be what they were talking about earlier. He walks to Lomasi, and stands in front of where she is seated at. I can see behind his back, and he holds a rose in one hand, and a little stuffed fox in the other. I smile widely, seeing how much he's paid attention to her. I hope to someday have a boy that sweet..

He holds out the rose, but keeps the fox hidden. "Lomasi Rose Fox Fong? Would you do me the honor of being my beautiful, gorgeous, funny, adorable, smart, and squeaker girlfriend?"

She has the biggest smile plastered on her face, and I wouldn't blame her either. She slowly takes the rose, and says with tears of joy in her eyes, "Of course I would!" Just then, Lui gives her the stuffed fox, and she grows breathless. She can't fight her tears anymore, and Lui hugs her. Not from the need to comfort her, but the need to make her feel loved.

They break apart, and Lui says, "Well, today is a good day, and I believe someone has some training to do!"

Although this is a short chapter, I plan on updating again tonight!! But please don't get upset if I don't because I've still got to finish my stupid science poster which I due tomorrow.. I hope you guys don't mind!! But I'm curious as to what you guys are thinking, what do you think will be the surprise coming for MacKenzie in the upcoming chapters? I'll give you a hint, part of it involves one of the weird QUESTIONS Vanoss asked earlier in the story..
