Margaux Arnault had been living an uneventful life... until she starte...
Margaux sighed as her eyes flew to look outside, focusing on the pedestrians walking below her window. It was a rainy day and she couldn't go outside, so here she was, studying in advance for the final exam of middle school, the French National Brevet diploma... or Brevet for short.
She would have to take the exam in four months, but she had no choice but to prepare a bit earlier.
The reason why?
It wasn't the first time she was taking it.
She had to repeat the school year because she failed the exam last year. She didn't want to fail it again. Not for herself, but for her parents who wouldn't stop reminding her of her failure. Even if they tried to appear quite accepting in front of the teachers, they had been extremely disappointed by her results.

She just liked singing so much. It made her feel alive.
She was reviewing her last physical chemistry class papers when she heard her phone's notification noise. She picked it up and went to lie down on her bed for a bit. It was a text from her friend Fanny.
"Hey wanna, hang out tomorrow?"
- Sure, why not. If I can convince my parents lol.
- Just tell them you're coming to my house so we can study together.
- You know they'll call your parents to confirm, right?
- Well, too bad for them! My parents are going out too! Wanna meet at the park near the school?"
