~One Week Later~

I sat alone in the music room, with Lacey. We both sat in front of a large grand piano.

I watched as her fingers gently moved along the keys as she got lost in the music. Her eyes became soft and she let the flow of music escape from her fingertips. Her music was beautiful. Ive never played an instrument, but to her, It looked like it came naturally.

She was playing 'Claire De Lune' and she hit every note perfectly. It was amazing to me how someone so beautiful could just as easily create something equally magnificent. I don't think Debussy could have played it more perfectly.

Before I knew it, it was over and she came back to reality. After the last key she looked up at me to see my reaction. I took her chin in my hand and pressed my lips against hers. I pulled back and looked into her stormy grey eyes.

"That was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard" I told her. And it was true, it was even more beautiful than her soft voice and the small giggles she lets out from time to time.

"Who taught you how to play like that?" I asked

"Oh, my neighbor Jeremy did. He's really into classical & rock music. I've known him my whole life. I think he also plays electric guitar and the violin" She smiled at me.

The bell rang and we got up to intertwine our hands. I traced small invisible circles on the back of her hand as we walked.

The pure beauty of Lacey's music inspired me. I may not want to play piano, but it sparked an interest of music in me that I wanted to explore.

--------------------------The next day

"Attention Class!" Mrs. Weeler said to get our attention. When the class finally settles she continued.

"There is a new music program at our school for string instruments." She said, beginning to pass out portfolios (I really hate that damn word.) around to the class.

"If you are interested, you can fill out a form, pick an instrument of your choice, and hand it in to me by this Monday."

When she placed a paper on my desk, I looked at it. The string instruments that were listed were acoustic guitar, electric guitar, violin, and bass.

I knew I wanted to do either acoustic guitar or bass. I started filling out the form and the rest of the period flew by because of my daydreaming about Lacey and I making music together.

------------------------------------- Lunch.

I sat next to Lacey at our usual table outside. The weather was warmer than usual and the sun shone brightly.

"So, I was thinking about learning to play bass or acoustic guitar." I said.

"Andy, thats great! I always did think of you as musical, with that beautiful voice of yours." She smiled.

We talked and joked for a while until it grew peacefully quiet. I looked over at her to find that she was staring at me with a huge grin on her face.

"Yes?" I said, her smile infecting me.

She giggled and reached up to fluff the back corner of my hair.

"Why are you fondling my hair, Dragonfly?"

"Your roots; They're blonde."

How could she tell? Is my hair dye fading again?

"Why do you look so worried?" She asked, smoothing the spot in between my eyebrows. "I love them. I think its really cute." She pecked a quick kiss on my temple and I grinned.

"I love you, Andy. I know we say that a lot but I truly do." She squeezed my hand lightly.

"I love you, too." I replied. She leaned on my arm and I played with her hair. She looked even more beautiful with the sun shining on her face.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Short chapter but this is a filler because I'm not sure if I want to switch over to Lacey's point of view for a chapter or two or if i want to skip a few months. I play piano and It was hard for me to decide which song I wanted to do.. There will probably be a lot more piano parts because of how much I love piano. -Hailey
