Chapter 53: Hopping dimensions

Oshawott woke up in their bed. They yawned then stood up.
They were really glad to be back in their house. They were tired of not sleeping in a bed.
Oshawott walked down to the kitchen and munched on a berry.
He heard footsteps as Zorua walked down the stairs, ready to start the day.
"Good morning!" Zorua says, grabbing a berry for themselves.
"Good morning." Oshawott says, taking another bite out of his berry.

They just stood there, eating their berries until they hear a knock at the door.
"I'll get it!" Zorua says, practically skipping to the door.
Chimchar walked into their house when Zorua opened the door, yawning.
"You're here early." Oshawott says, finishing off his berry and walking over to Chimchar.
"Y-yeah but, I r-really wanted t-to start n-now." Chimchar replies.
"Oh, ok!" Zorua says. "Lucario said to meet at the middle of town square right?"
"Y-yep." Chimchar says. "Well then, let's get going!" Oshawott replies, walking outside.

A while of walking later, they met up with Lucario.
"Hey guys!" Lucario says, waving to them.
"Hey Lucario!" Zorua replies, running over to them.
"So, are we ready for this?" Lucario says, ecstatic.
"As ready as we're gonna get." Oshawott replies calmly.
"Ok, just follow me." Lucario says, walking towards the forest.
"W-why do w-we need to g-go to the forest?" Chimchar says.
"I mean, doing this in public will kinda get a crowd." Lucario replies.

"Ok, we're pretty deep in this forest, let's get started!" Lucario says, finally finding a nice spot to stop.
"Did we really have to walk to far?" Oshawott says, looking around them.
"Probably not but, look at this place!" Lucario says, pointing around them.
Oshawott did think it looked pretty nice. It was a nice remote clearing with only dense forest around them.
"So our only clues are; that it's a word we know, and it starts with 'a'." Zorua says.
"Y-yep." Chimchar says while walking around the clearing.

"That's still a ton of words to try." Oshawott points out.
"Well, it won't figure itself out!" Lucario exclaims.
They whisper a word into the palm of their paw, and makes a throwing motion with their arm.
Right when it seemed like the word would hit the ground, a portal opens.
Oshawott, Zorua, and Chimchar had never seen what Lucario did to open the portals, so they were stunned.
"Why are you guys just standing there? We got places to check!" Lucario says, jumping into the portal.
Everyone soon followed Lucario into the portal, not know where they would end up.

"Ok let's try this word." Lucario says, whispering the word into their paw.
Oshawott watched as another portal opened up, no longer amazed.
They jumped into the other world, just to end up underwater.
"Ok, not this one." Oshawott says, knowing they're the only one who can speak underwater clearly.
They swim back into the portal and get teleported back to their world.

"Can we stop for today?" Zorua says while drying off.
"But he have only scratched the surface with these!" Lucario proclaims.
"Bro we went through a portal and found a huge monster grabbing and draining the life out of people, I think we can stop for now."  Oshawott responds.
Lucario thought for about a minute. "Fine." they finally say.
"T-Thanks" Chimchar says back, happy to finally go home.

Oshawott and Zorua stopped outside their home, ready to sleep.
They entered and shut the door behind them, and looked around.
Something just felt, off. But both of the Pokémon couldn't put their finger on it.
Oshawott swore they saw movement at the corner of their eye, but when they turned nothing greeted him.
"Maybe it's just paranoia" Oshawott says, thinking aloud.
They both decide to head to bed. They did have another long day ahead of them anyways.

Oshawott lay restless in bed, unable to sleep due to a feeling of dread bugging him.
They looked around their room again, wondering if there was another Pokémon in their room.
Nothingness again, and Oshawott was getting tired of this, so he closed his eyes and tried to sleep.
Oshawott was almost asleep until he felt a hand suddenly grip around their throat and lifted them upwards.
Oshawott couldn't scream for help and just choked weakly as the Pokémon laughed, hiding their form from view except for the hand that was holding them,
Laughter was the last thing they heard when Oshawott finally passed out from suffocation.

Zorua could hear laughter upstairs and immediately got up and ran towards Oshawott's room, just in time to see a figure holding Oshawott like a doll.
"I don't know who you are or what you're capable of but, you clearly want a fight." Zorua says, reading themselves for a battle.
"Okay," their voice sounded sharp and deep but mysterious, scaring Zorua to their core, "but don't blame me when they find your organs hung on the walls."
Zorua quickly hit them with an Assurance and quickly used Foul play to get some attacks in.
But, the figure didn't falter and used Extreme Speed mixed with slash to get a deep cut in Zorua's back.
Zorua yelped and fell to the floor in pain, hearing another move being charged by the figure, so Zorua quickly cast an illusion and tried to attack their side.

The figure let go of Oshawott and hit the wall. Zorua watched as they fainted and hit the floor with a thud.
Zorua quickly checked up on Oshawott and confirmed they were alive.
Zorua was suddenly enveloped in pain as they heard the figure slash at their tail, which was cut clean off, dripping blood.
Zorua was mortified and couldn't dodge another slash straight to the face, cutting through their left eye causing them to lose half of their vision.
The figure spoke again, this time in a mocking tone, "Aww look at you, so beat up."
Zorua quickly ran to Oshawott's bed and grabbed the small silver device and practically launched themselves at Oshawott before the figure could do anything.
They clicked the button and were teleported to town square, at the dead of night.

Zorua, dripping with blood and in immense pain, carried Oshawott to the hospital and fainted when Pokémon came to help them.
