Pokémon Life 3: Split Dimensions

Chapter 51: Human again

Piplup awoke with a start. They really forgot what it was like being human, although he was a Pokémon for only a week. Piplup looked over to his clock reading the time.

"5:30"

Dangit.

They had to get up soon. Well, they were already up but had to get out of bed soon. Piplup forced himself to stand up and stretch.

Then they wondered what would happen if they turned back into a Pokémon. "Would I be teleported back to the room?" Piplup thought.

So they tried it.

Piplup suddenly felt his soul get sucked from his body. He let the transformation happen, and once it was done, he looked up to see himself, stunned that there was a Pokémon on his floor.

"Oh, my go-" human Piplup gets cut off by Piplup returning to his body.

"That felt so weird." Piplup says, starting to change clothes. He knew he had to do something important soon, but he couldn't put his finger on it. He couldn't even think clearly, his mind felt groggy and tired.

He remembers that he hasn't really slept in a while, it only felt like he was asleep for a second, so he let himself get back in bed and close his eyes.

Piplup couldn't sleep, although tired, his brain still thought about yesterday. "Yesterday?" Piplup thought. "It was like 10 minutes ago." He looks back at the clock.

"5:32"

Today was gonna be a long day for him, isn't it?

Piplup opens his eyes to the sound of his alarm clock. He slowly turns his head to the clock.

"6:30"

He was surprised it didn't read something like 9 o'clock. It had felt like his eyes were closed for a decade.

Suddenly he remembers what was so important.

School.

Piplup had forgotten about the one thing that everyone knows.

Normally, people would hate or dislike school but Piplup had slowly come to enjoy it. It was the only real place to see his friends.

Well, human friends.

He wonders what his friends did after he almost tripped over the railing. After he became a Pokémon. It was probably just nothing to them. He must've just said something like "Almost fell there haha" and they just went on with their day.

Nobody knew the real him had disappeared at that very moment. Well, what he thought was his real self. I guess his soul is a better term.

Piplup remembers that he has to get ready for school and starts changing.

After that, he would walk downstairs to find a note left by his parents.

That was normal to him, both of his parents have to drive for half an hour to get to work, so he was used to waking up alone. Piplup would make a bowl of cereal for himself and prepare for the school day.

But, when Piplup tried to eat the cereal, he remembers the berries he had as a Pokémon. He kinda misses them. They were such a weird flavor for him, but he enjoyed that about them.

But he continued eating his cereal.

He kept thinking about everything that happened last week.

He was so lost in thought that he didn't even notice his friend sit next to him on the bus.

"Hey, are you okay?" His friend says, finally catching Piplup's attention. "Oh, yeah I'm fine just, thinking about stuff." Piplup says, turning to his friend.

"Did you hear about that story about the escaped lab animals?" his friend says.

Piplup thought nothing of it, just some lab that got careless about their subjects. "I actually haven't" he says, quickly looking out of the bus window then turning back to his friend.

"Turns out, that place that we went swimming a week or so ago had a secret lab inside of it! Isn't that crazy! We were in the same building that had a secret lab!"

Now he got what happened. Of course, that swimming place was crammed when they escaped, it had to have been talked about everywhere.

Piplup quickly made up a response to his friend. "That is wild dude!" he says. "I know! If we decided to swim there literally a day later we would've seen that!" his friend replies.

But Piplup wasn't listening to his friend, he was deep in thought.

'This is starting to become one of those corny superhero movies, a person gets a superhero power and has to hide it, except this is Pokémon we're talking about.' Piplup thought.

'Why did it say animals? Why didn't it say Pokémon? I mean an article called 'Wild Pokémon escape from secret lab' would get an absurd amount of attention. Maybe it wouldn't be believable. Or maybe there's something else going on.' Piplup thought.

Piplup's thought process ended when his friend shook him. "What?" he says.

"Thank goodness! I thought you died with your eyes open!" his friend says. "Didn't you just hear the bus driver?"

'Were they already at school?' Piplup thought. "Uh, no?" he replies.

"Turns out the police are coming to interrogate people who were at that swimming place we went to." his friend says.

"WHAT!?" he says. He knew what this meant, and it wasn't looking good for him.

Piplup knew he would crack under any pressure on him. He just couldn't handle being put on the spot like that.

"Dude, we're gonna see what a police interrogation room looks like!" his friend says, sounding excited as heck.

"Cool!" Piplup says, trying to sound as excited as possible.

Just then, police appeared at the front of the bus and started walking to them.

"Hello, we are from the county police and we are here to interrogate you on the recent events at (I can't think of a place name sorry)." They say while other policemen go further down the bus aisle.

"Ok." Piplup and his friend say as they get up and follow the police out of the bus.

'Ok Piplup, this is going to be fine.' he thinks to himself.

They wait patiently in the back of a police car until they hear someone talk over the radio.

"Ok, that's everyone." Someone says through said radio.

Then, they start driving to the police station.

'Either this is gonna end great, or I'll end up on a wanted list' Piplup thinks to himself.
