Chapter 55: One Heck of a Reunion

Piplup stood next to Rowlet as they heard another person be called.
"So," Rowlet whispered, "do you have any plans of escape?"
"No, all of the plans I thought of just couldn't work without everyone," Piplup replies.
"Well, why couldn't we just become Pokémon and ask the others to join us?" Rowlet asks.
"That is a good idea," Piplup says and thinks out the entire plan.
'If the humans join us we could definitely escape.' Piplup thinks.
'Although there will be many casualties.'
Piplup's thought process was ended when a guard walked out of the interrogation room with a cage in their hand.

"Okay. We have found one of you!" The guard yells showing a Pikachu in the cage.
"Oh dang," Rowlet whispers to Piplup.
"Now, I want the rest of you four to come out now or else I shoot your friend." The guard yells, pulling out a gun and pointing it at Pikachu's cage.
Everyone looked around, mostly amazed that there was an actual Pokémon in front of them.
"You have ten [Redacted] seconds before I shoot this [Redacted]." The guard yells.
Rowlet just stepped forward and became a Pokémon, looking defeated.
Piplup followed shortly after him.

Suddenly another human steps up and becomes a Tepig and walks over to them.
"That's four or you, where's the last [Redacted] one!?" The guard looks around.
"Sir, there's a good chance that they died due to our recklessness." Another guard says.
They glared at that guard with metaphorical fire in their eyes.
"Ok," The first guard says, "but I swear to [Redacted] god if that one is still alive and gets away, I'm going to kill you."
'Metaphorically, right?' Piplup thinks.
"Then the boss is gonna literally kill you." They spat out and started to cage Piplup.

Piplup realized that Pikachu was shaking in fear.
Then Piplup remembered that he was shot to death before.
The cage he was in got picked up and they started to move down the hall.
Piplup tried to think of an escape plan but all of his ideas were blocked out by feelings of doubt.
He couldn't help but think how everything can, and will, go wrong.
Gunshots rang through the halls as people started screaming.
Piplup only shivered in horror as he guessed what happened to the other people.

They stop at a jail door and watch as Rowlet and Pikachu's cages are thrown haphazardly into the cell.
With a click of the door, they turn to another jail facing the first one.
Piplup suddenly feels himself falling as he is thrown into his cell.
He hits the floor with a thud and hears Tepig get thrown in with him.
The guards walk away, brushing off their hands like they just threw out the trash.
Piplup waits for their footsteps to fade to actually try and get out of his cage.
'They didn't even open our cages, they really want us trapped here.' Piplup thinks and tries to use Hydro Pump.
Nothing.

"Of course, they have the move blocking things!" Tepig yells in anger and slams into his cage door, breaking it.
He walks over to Piplup's cage and fumbles with the lock for a second.
With a click, his cage door swings open and Piplup walks out.
"Thanks." He tells Tepig and walks over to inspect the jail they've been locked in.
"No problem," Tepig says as he also looks around.
"Why does it feel like everyone's out to get us?" Piplup thinks out loud.
"What?" Rowlet says across the hall, still stuck in their cage.

"I get what you're saying," Tepig says.
"Everyone has these weird move blocking things, they somehow know there was 5 of us, and they set all this up just to trap us."
Piplup could only nod his head to what Tepig was saying because that's exactly what he was thinking.
"That sounds very weird," Rowlet says.
"But don't you think it's a little suspicious that they set all this up? In a week, at best?"
"Well, yeah," Rowlet replies to Tepig.
"So they must've been setting this up close to the start of our adventure!" Piplup exclaims.

"Okay that's cool and all but how are we supposed to get out?" Pikachu yells.
"Slam into your cage door, it'll hurt for a second but-" Tepig says, but gets cut off by a loud clang and a groan coming from Pikachu.
"That just hurts!" Pikachu says.
"They're hopeless." Tepig mumbles, walking to the wall farthest away from the bars to the cell.
Suddenly, another clang is heard as Rowlet breaks his cage door and looks over to Piplup and Tepig's cell.
"Got it." He says, walking over to Pikachu's cage and opening it for him as well.
"Thanks," Pikachu says, still a little dazed from his attempt at escaping.

Piplup watches as Pikachu tries to slip between the cell bars but fails.
"Piplup! Move!" Piplup quickly sidesteps out of the way as Tepig runs towards the bars with a piece of the concrete walls and slams it against the bars.
It doesn't even dent the bar but the piece of concrete shatters.
"Dangit!" Tepig yells, throwing what's left of the piece onto the floor.
"Where'd you find that?" Rowlet asks.
"Found it at the back of the cell, must've broken off the wall somehow," Tepig replies.
Piplup suddenly got an idea on how to get out.

Quickly, he grabs what's left of the piece of concrete and starts to chisel away at the wall closest to the bars.
Everyone watches him as he makes a hole barely big enough for him and Tepig to squeeze through and get out of their cell.
"Let's go!" Tepig says as Piplup starts chiseling away at Rowlet and Pikachu's cell.
After a couple of minutes of chiseling, Rowlet and Pikachu get out of their cell.
"Thanks," Rowlet says to Piplup.
Pikachu runs over to a weird machine and breaks it to pieces.

"Why'd you do that?" Piplup asks.
"While running out of that facility we got trapped in after the whole other world adventure, I saw that same machine, and I think it's the move blockers," Pikachu exclaims.
Piplup tries to use Hydro Pump and a beam of water comes flying out of his mouth.
"Nice job!" Tepig tells Pikachu which makes him very happy.
"Why would they just leave that there? We probably could've thrown a rock at it if we knew that was the move blocking machine thing." Piplup says.
"Eh, not all plans are perfect," Rowlet says.

Suddenly, footsteps start echoing through the halls as two guards almost run into them.
"Crap! They did escape!" One of the guards yell.
They say something into the radio on their chest and an alarm blares through the halls.
Tepig quickly tackles the first guard as Pikachu uses Thunder to knock out the other.
"Enough talking! Let's get out of here!" Tepig yells, running into the hallway.
Everyone quickly follows behind.
