—————flashback
"Uh Kristie. Please tell me that wasn't you I saw talking to a certain Chelsea player at the bar last night?"
"And if it was?" Kristie took a sip from her coffee looking up at her sister and best friend Steph.
"Wait who are we talking about?" Steph scoffed down another piece of slice from the plate in front of her.
"An Australian with a bad reputation." Sam scowled at her sister.
"You don't even know her!" Kristie shook her head, immediately on the defence.
"Wait are we talking about Sam Kerr?" Steph was still confused.
"I wish we weren't." Sam was always trying to be protective of her older sister, especially after her last relationship turned out to be a complete disaster.
"Please tell me more!" Steph sat up now fully focused, a smirk on her face.
"There's nothing to tell!" Kristie laughed. "I was just buying her another drink because I bumped into her and totally trashed her shirt. End of story."
"So that's why I didn't see you again for the rest of the night then huh?" Sarcasm seeping in her sister's voice.
"Oooh interesting. I could totally set you two up I know Sammy K, she's recently single I hear. And she's a catch." Steph winked at Kristie.
"Yeah that's the problem. Kristie just got out of a bad relationship, she doesn't need to get her heart broken by another up herself fuck girl." Sam clearly wasn't the Australian's biggest fan.
"Nah Sam's not like that. Honestly she is confident, but very modest. Whoever ends up with her will be lucky. Seriously she's like, the end game for someone." Steph grabbed another piece of slice.
Sam sighed. "I'm serious Kristie, don't get involved she will only play you. Everyone knows about her. She'll take advantage of you then kick you to the curb."
Kristie looked down fiddling with her coffee. She didn't say anything further on the topic, really unsure about her interaction with the Australian. She had gotten the impression that she was really nice and caring, but now she was starting to think that maybe she was just trying to play her. Either way Kristie already knew she was going to find out, whether her sister approved or not.
Two days later and Sam had sent her a message on Instagram. She wanted to catch up for dinner. Kristie didn't even have to think twice about saying yes, she was already getting attached. But after being left standing at the restaurant waiting by herself she was beginning to think that maybe her sister was right. But of course then the Australian arrived putting all her worries to bed.
Kristie woke feeling the weight of someone's body on top of hers. She blinked her eyes adjusting to the morning light seeping through the blinds covering her bedroom window. Smiling, she watched Sam's body rising slightly with each of her breaths as her head rested on Kristie's chest, their arms still wrapped around each other.
Last night felt like a dream to her. She hadn't kissed anyone since Rachel and it just felt natural with Sam. She laid still not wanting to wake Sam as she watched her sleep peacefully.
A loud bang on the hotel door echoed through the room. Sam moved slightly but didn't wake thankfully.
Kristie shifted her body off to the side careful not to wake the striker. She rushed to the door before whoever it was could knock again.
