"You okay there?" Kristie leant up slightly resting on her arm whilst running her fingers softly across Sam's chest.
Sam had been pretty quite for most of the afternoon.
"Yeah just a little tired." Sam smiled leaning up to kiss Kristie.
"You know you're really beautiful." Kristie brushed her hand through the brunettes hair.
Sam blushed leaning up to connect their lips together again. The two spent the night wrapped up with each other under the warm covers.
When Kristie woke the next morning she turned reaching for where Sam's body should have been. She could see the living room light seeping through the crack under the closed bedroom door.
She rose from the bed and made her way out into the kitchen. Still dressed in Sam's oversized red Nike shirt, a chill ran down her spine still not quite used to the cold London mornings.

"Hey Sammy your girls' here!" Caitlin yelled across the room, drink in hand.
The Australians had just lost the Bronze Medal match against the USA. The team was obviously heartbroken but decided to enjoy the moment together and celebrate everything they had achieved.
After a few drinks one thing lead to another and an invitation was sent out the the US girls to join. Some would think it was weird that they were celebrating together as the team had just taken Olympic glory away from them. But considering most of the girls were friends and had been for years, it wasn't weird at all.
"Hello!" Sam quickly crossed the room wearing a red Nike shirt and her signature black shorts. She put her drink down on the nearest table.
Sam certainly wasn't one to shy away from public displays of affection so as soon as she reached her girlfriend her lips were latched onto Kristie's. Kristie pulled her in wrapping her arms around and holding the Australian as close as possible.
"You should be so proud Sammi." Kristie pulled back breaking the kiss and looking the Australian in the eyes.
"Congratulations, I am really happy for you. You've worked so hard for this." Sam smiled, already sensing that her girlfriend was feeling a little guilty having just beaten her. "Don't worry about me. Enjoy this feeling."
"I know but, this is us. My dream, your dream. I just don't want anything to come between us."
"Hey I have more than one dream. This was just one of many. One of them was finding the love of my life."
Kristie smiled raising her eye at her. "Was?"
"Mhmm. Was." Sam smirked. "Nothing has changed. You're not getting rid of me that easily. I'm still going to be overly obsessed with you babe." Sam giggled grabbing her girlfriends hand and pulling her to sit down on her lap in the nearest chair.
Kristie smiled kissing Sam's lips. How did she get so lucky.

"Babe?" Kristie peeked into the kitchen spotting Sam with her back to her cooking over the stove. Completely unaware of her presence.
"Take me as I am, swear I'll do the best I can..."Sam's head bopped as she sung to herself.
Kristie smiled sneaking up behind her girlfriend, wrapping her arms around her waist. Her chin resting between Sam's neck and shoulder.
"Good morning." Kristie squeezed her girlfriend tighter. "What are you doing up so early? Thought you didn't have to leave until 9?"
"Mmmm yeah I don't." Sam leaned into Kristie's embrace. "Thought I'd make you breaky first."
Kristie still laughed every time she heard the Australian's slang being used.
"You really don't have to make me breakfast every day you know." She planted a kiss on Sam's cheek before taking a seat at the bench.
"Well I gotta treat my girl." Sam said as she dished up the bacon and eggs she had been cooking onto the plate in front of Kristie.
"One day I am going to get up early enough to beat you to it."
Sam laughed, "We'll see about that one!"
"So are you nervous about the game today?" Kristie knew Sam had been nervous the night before. She tossed and turned for hours before finally falling asleep.
She had only been living with the Australian at her apartment for a couple of weeks and it hadn't taken long to pick up on her nervous ticks. Especially right before a big game.
"Yeah a little..." Sam bit her lip looking down at her own plate. "I don't know I just have a weird feeling about this one."
"Hey, look at me." Kristie placed her hand over Sam's. "You'll be great, you know how hard you've been working. Just be yourself out there."
Sam looked up finding Kristie's adoring eyes.
"Thanks Kris.""Now please eat before I get in trouble off Emma for making her superstar late."
