"Workin' 9 to 5, what a way to make a living
Barely gettin' by, it's all taking and no giving."

I was frozen in my spot. The image of Silas shaking what his momma gave him will now forever be stuck in my head.

It's been a few days since we moved in and I must admit, the place is growing on me.

I woke up this morning feeling refreshed after my wonderful dream that consisted of me and Chris Hemsworth having an epic dance battle. And all I can say is, who knew Chris was a pro at ballet.

Anyways, I went downstairs to get me a good portion of Rice Krispies and as I walked closer to the kitchen, the sound of singing could be heard very clearly.

I mean whoever was singing wasn't bad at it, but what I didn't expect was to see Silas in the kitchen, pouring himself a generous amount of tea and placing the most delicious donut I've ever seen on a plate. And during it all he would swing his hips from side to side.

I quickly walked into the kitchen whilst clearing my throat when I saw him getting ready to twerk. I did NOT need to see that this early in the morning, I was already scarred enough.

"Oh! Good morning Sky." He said obviously shocked as a blush spread across his cheeks from being caught.

"Yeah uh, morning Silas." I greeted awkwardly as I grabbed the cereal from the cupboard along with a bowl.

"You didn't um, see anything, did you?" He asked with embarrassment as he glanced at me whilst I grabbed the milk that was on the counter and poured it in the bowl and then the cereal afterwards.

"Nope, I didn't see anything. I only heard you singing." I quickly replied as I retreaved a spoon from the drawer. The man was already embarrassed enough, he didn't need me making it worse.

He sighed in pure relief but quickly spoke again when he saw me about to leave the kitchen.

"Do you maybe want to join me for breakfa-" He started to say but I cut him off before he could finish.

"Sorry Silas but there's this show I really like and it's about to start. I really don't wanna miss it." I hurriedly said with a grimace.

"Oh ok. That's fine, maybe next time." He said in an obviously disappointed tone as he looked down at the floor like a kicked puppy.

(Aww it's ok Silas I'll eat breakfast with you. Who's joining us🖐️)

I bit the inside of my cheeks with a little guilt washing over me as I practically ran to the livingroom. It's not like I hate or dislike Silas or anything, but he's just trying too hard to be a father figure in my life and I never asked for it. It's my last school year and I'll probably leave next year so I don't see a reason to start a father-daughter relationship.
