‘Hey honey how wa-’ Millies mum started to say
‘OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG’ Millie said, butting in
Janice (Millies mum) Laughed
‘Good day i suppose?’
‘YES! I have a BOYFRIEND! Well.. We not technically, we are going on a date, but OMG OMG!’ Millie explained to her mum
‘Oh, wow! What’s his name?’ She replied
‘Jack Milligan’
‘Ohh, sounds cute, well, be safe’
Millie speed-walked into her room and logged onto her computer, Jack had sent her a message
‘ Hey millie, I was thinking, do you want to go out on Saturday? To the movies?’
Her heart rate sped up, and her tummy felt warm and bubbly
‘Sure! I’ll have to ask my mum though :/ what time?’ Millie typed back
Oh no, was that lame, having to ask my mum? She thought, but the next message from Jack settled that thought
‘I had to ask my mum too, she said yes, wb yours? How about 11:30, theres a movie called Starkit, do you wanna see that?’
‘Yeah, I wanted to see that movie, I was hoping you didn’t think i was lame asking my mum haha, 11:30’s perfect, see you then?’
‘Alright, it’s a ‘date’’
This made everything so... Official! Millie buzzed around the house, until finally Saturday came. She made herself look as good as she could, spending hours on clothes, make-up, hairstyles, shoes, until finally she found the perfect combination of her favourite green top and fabric-that-looks-like-denim shorts, with her black glittery shoes and hair sitting at her waist.
When Millie found herself at the cinemas, Jack was already waiting there, looking so nervous
‘Hi’
‘Hi’
“Want to go in?’
‘Sure’
The conversation was simple and awkward.
‘Heres your popcorn’ Jack said, passing her her popcorn
‘Thanks, the movies starting’

When the movie finished they sat in the food court, talking. They got to really know eachother properly, without anyone else being there to interrupt... Or so millie thought
‘HI Guys!, what are YOU going here? Oh on a date? Ooh’ Fliss said. Interrupting, just as millie hoped wouldn't happen, Jack and Millie gave eachother the same look
‘Uh yeah’ Jack said
‘Oh okay, well that’s good, you guys would be cute together’ Fliss said with a smile. But the smile looked empty and forced, and when she said it she looked straight into millies eyes, with a flat tone, it didn’t seem sincere. When she walked off Jack turned back around to Millie
‘Glad she’s gone’
‘Uh yeah’ Millie said, still watching Fliss walk away. That whole afternoon Millie wanted to mention what she thought when fliss said her last sentence, but she didn’t want to seem like a drama-bitchy type, so she kept her mouth shut, until the end of the day.
