I knew I needed you

But I'd never show

I didn't offer Angelina any explanation when the Uber finally dropped me off at home. I just grunted in response to her question of whether it was fun. Either she didn't care, or she saw that I was in no mood to talk. I like to think it was the latter, it would mean she cared. If that was the case, she should save herself the trouble, I wasn't worth it. My actions tonight with Percy only served to prove that.

I brushed my teeth and hastily threw on some pjs, hoping that tomorrow my deodorant would be able to cover the fact that I hadn't showered.    I lay in my bed for a while, letting my mind playback the events from tonight. I tossed and turned for hours, trying to get to sleep. But I wanna stay with you until we're grey and old

I awoke to a rapid knocking noise coming from the front door. I groaned and pried an eye open to read the clock on my bedside table. 11:48. Considering I only got to bed around 4:30 last night, it was way too early.

The knocking didn't let up, and I could still hear it when I pulled the covers over my head.

"Angelinaaaaa! Make it stop!" Either she was already gone, or she was ignoring me because there was no way she didn't hear me just then.    After another minute of knocking, I forced myself out of bed and pulled a sweatshirt over my head.

"I'm coming, geez." That seemed to work because the knocking stopped abruptly. This better be good. I rubbed my eyes, trying to clear my vision.

I opened the door to find Percy standing on the doormat, fiddling with his jacket sleeve. He looks up at me, surprised like he didn't think I'd actually open the door. The surprise quickly fades into concern and before he can say anything, I push the door closed. Well, almost closed.

Percy shoves his arm forward to stop the door from shutting.

"What the hell Oliver!" I'm surprised by the anger in his voice.

"Sorry, sorry," I know I'm being shitty. I take a breath and lean against the door frame, "I'm sorry Percy."

"What's going on Oliver?" His voice is softer now and I know I don't deserve it. The way he says my name makes my stomach flip.

I force a smile, "I think I just had one too many drinks last night. Sorry about that."

Percy rolls his eyes, "Just tell me the truth."

I cross and uncross my arms, not sure what to do with them. "I don't know what you mean Percy."

"Honestly I don't know what it could possibly be. Are you dating one of my brothers or something, I mean, I don't know."

I can't help but laugh at that, "Percy, I am not dating one of your brothers."

Percy turns an adorable shade of red, "Well, with the lack of communication, how was I supposed to know that!"

"Well, it wouldn't be your brother that I'd want to date," I mumble.

"What?"

"Nothing, never mind." We stand in silence for a minute. I realize it must be raining outside because Percy's hair and jacket are both damp. His face is still slightly red, and he's chewing on his bottom lip.
