'This is so unfair, why do you get to wear these cute trousers and we have to wear skirts?' Lonnie whined.

Winter break was over, the first day of school had come and that meant that everyone was now obliged to wear uniforms.

'Because I'm pregnant,' Mal told her.

'So? Pregnant women can wear skirts too,' Lonnie said. 'And besides, you're not even showing yet.'

'These are stretchy trousers so I can grow into them,' Mal said.

'I want those too,' she said.

'Maybe if you ask Jay very nicely he'll get you knocked up as well and then you can wear these trousers too,' Mal suggested.

Lonnie looked at Jay.

'Oh come on,' Jay said, rolling his eyes. 'Don't go putting these kinda ideas in her head, Mal.'

'She started...' Mal said.

'It's so weird seeing everyone in the same outfits,' Carlos said, looking around.

'I actually kinda like them,' Evie said. 'Very classy old school uniforms, almost like we're in Cruel Intentions.'

'That's what they remind me of,' Jane realised.

'Well, I still think it's ridiculous that we have to wear these,' Lonnie said. 'Where did the individuality go, huh? Are we back in the middle ages or something?'

'They're just uniforms, she's not forcing us to become nuns,' Jane said.

'Just wait,' Lonnie said. 'It begins with uniforms, then they slowly start indoctrinating us with the same ideas and before you know it we've all become members of a new communist community.'

'My mother is not Stalin, Lonnie,' Jane said, kinda hurt.

'Talk to her then,' she said. 'Before it's too late.'

'We really gotta stop letting her go to history and conspiracy movies,' Mal whispered to Jane.

'Okay, then don't believe me, but once you're all stuck in this communist cult, you'll regret not listening to me,' Lonnie told them, crossing her arms.

'We'll take that chance,' Jay said.

'Suckers,' Lonnie sighed.

'Where's Audrey?' Carlos asked. 'Isn't she in this class too?'

'I heard she got dresscoded, because, well, she wasn't wearing the uniform,' Evie said.

'Of course,' Mal said, who had already predicted this. 'Now she's just the same as everyone else, how will she ever survive as a commoner?'

Evie chuckled. 'I love this new uniform thing.'

'Just because you can see her all miserable?' Mal asked.

'Aren't you enjoying that then?' she asked.

'Yeah, okay,' Mal agreed, shrugging her shoulders.

'This would probably be the first time ever not seeing her wear an outfit valued over 1000$,' Jay said.

'I know,' Evie said, smirking.

'I'm actually kind of surprised you're liking this uniform thing,' Jay said.

'You are?' Evie questioned.

'Yeah, you love making outfits and improving your style and what not,' he said.

'It's not like we can't wear something else after school,' Evie said. 'Plus, I think the uniforms are quite stylish.'
