You Kept Your Promise

Chapter 24

"Give her time," Corey said as he sat next to Raven who was currently sitting across from Anastasia's room back at his father's mansion. "This is a lot to take in."

"Da," Raven nodded but made no effort to get up. "Know okay."

"She's here," Corey said, "that means something. She could have refused but she chose to come back here. Take comfort in that. Let her try to come to terms with everything, okay?"

"Come eat," Marc called out and Corey stood but Raven shook his head.

"I stay, need me," He said while staring at her door.

"Here, give her this," Marc said carrying a tray over to them. Raven stood and took it, "The soup will be easy on her stomach and throat. It will also give you comfort to see her. Your plate is on there as well."

"Thanks," Raven said softly and Marc nodded. Corey opened the door then left following Marc. Raven saw her laying in bed staring out the window. He walked in and sat the tray on the nightstand. "Kitten," he whispered.

"Leave alone Raven," She sighed and closed her eyes.

"Can't," he shook his head. "Worry about you."

"I fine," She said through clenched teeth. "Leave alone."

"You not," He shook his head. "All this make sick. I make sick."

"I fine," She sighed, "Just rest, leave alone."

"Try soup?" He asked softly. "Please? Help tummy."

"Leave alone Raven," She sighed. "Just sleep."

"Hold please?" he asked not caring how pathetic he sounded. "Like use to?" She shook her head and he sighed. "Please?" he begged. "No lose you."

"Too late," She sat up and glared at him.

"Please no," Raven begged and reached out for her. "No lose you, can't lose you, won't lose you."

She got out of bed and shoved him then started punching him, he just took it, letting her get everything she kept pent up out. Even as pissed off as she was at him, he still found her to be breathtaking.

You lost me the moment I found out you were hiding a secret from me! You promised me there would never be any secrets between us and you lied! I never kept any secrets from you NEVER and you DID. Her screaming eventually turned to sobs and once all her energy left her, she collapsed against him. He held her until she cried herself to sleep again. He picked her up and gently put her back in bed. He heard movement and looked up to see the team standing there. The look on their faces told him that Corey told them what she was screaming at him. They came in and found places to sit and wait to see how she will be when she woke up. Raven held her while she slept, he couldn't bear the thought of her not being in his arms right now. He knew the moment she woke she would push him away again so he took the change to hold her while he could because he knew it wouldn't last long. He had to figure out how to make things right with her again, but how?
