Thanksgiving was a holiday that Hope had stopped caring for as she'd gotten older. As a kid, she loved it... having a giant feast with your beloved family, what more could you want?

But that changed when Hope was kicked out from her family home.

Cathterine and Jackson always celebrated Thanksgiving with her from then on, and it had been fun, but now that she was an adult getting into the career she'd always wanted to, she didn't care for it anymore.

"Come on, you're like the Grinch of Thanksgiving!" Lexie declared, talking to Hope. The pair currently stood in the ER, about to part ways and head towards their new patients. "I'm not the Grinch— the Grinch turns around and learns to love Christmas. I won't be doing that with Thanksgiving." Hope declared as Lexie let out a groan.

They passed Jackson, and Lexie quickly reached out to grab his sleeve. "Help me convince your sister to celebrate Thanksgiving." The Grey quickly pleaded as Jackson laughed, "Been there, done that." He said before he continued to walk in the other direction.

Lexie let out a sound of disappointment for Jackson's reaction, though it made Hope laugh. Even though Lexie frowned at the ravenette, she couldn't deny that she was taken back by how beautiful Hope looked when she smiled.

It was a rare sight, and usually happened at a sarcastic comment, but it beautiful nevertheless.

"I'll see you later Little Avery." Lexie spoke before she parted ways. Hope gave a sly wave, "Bye bye Little Grey." She spoke smugly.

It was then, a confused and anxious looking woman approached Hope. "Excuse me." She piped up, as Hope turned around to face her.

"Hi there, how can I help you?" Hope asked, switching into work mode suddenly. "I'm looking for Dr Mark Sloan." The lady spoke.

Hope looked around before she found him. "You see the guy who was burned trying to deep fry a turkey?" The Rodriguez asked as the blonde woman nodded. "Well, Sloan is the doctor making him scream at an excruciatingly high pitch." Hope responded to the woman.

"Thanks." The woman answered before she approached Mark. Hope began walking away, but froze suddenly as she heard the woman speak to the Sloan. "Hi. Um, so this is a little weird. My name is Sloan Reilly and uh, my Mum's name is Samantha. I'm pretty sure you're my Dad."

Hope nearly tripped over her own feet out of surprise as she heard this. Callie then approached the ravenette, "Hey Hope. I'm hoping Cara told you that yourself and Jackson are invited to spend Thanksgiving with us." The Torres declared as Hope quickly brushed it off, "She did but I'm not coming. It's nothing personal."
