" Next up in the ring we have Harper Williams and Dusk till Dawn!" I heard the volunteer say. I trotted around a little and waited for the bell, when it came I trotted up the central line, stopped at X and bowed.
The judge bowed back and we trotted up the rest of the line. A circle with P then a diagonal with extended trot, I went through everything in my head. Dawn looked like she she knew the rest herself so I could focus on my equitation and keeping her collected.
We trotted up the central line and stopped at X, the bell rang and we could leave the ring. "Good girl" I patted her neck and walked out letting her stretch her neck." That was awesome!" Brit told me when I came in with Dawn to let her breathe before the show jumping later. " Thank you, we tried our best" I smiled at her. " Hello, Brittany, that horse is the one I'll be buying huh?" I heard a voice behind me " Well if you want to buy her then yes" Brit answered her " Whose the girl?" The buyer " Well she's the one who have trained her up to all this" Brit smiled at me and I smiled back.
She was now trying to ride Dawn, to my surprise she could not get her to walk normally, she jumped and bucked and the whole thing! Then the woman on her laughed. She laughed? " She's perfect!" She laughed " Ma'am are you sure?" Brit looked uneasy about this, but the woman waved her off and said " She's to my daughter, she's five, but she said she wanted the most complicated horse there was!" Jaw drop. She can't give Dawn to a five year old! " Well are you sure you wouldn't want one that can take care of kids instead?" Brit obviously didn't want to sell Dawn to her.

They discussed until I had to get ready for show jumping. It sounded like Dawn was sold.. to a five year old. I couldn't believe it. " Harper Williams and Dusk till Dawn!" The commentator announced, bringing me out of my thoughts. "Alright girl.. last ride together.. let's make it count!" I whispered as I walked into the arena with 80cm jumps. There was much applause when we walked in, I was more determined than ever to win this!
We trotted around, she was just as good as earlier in the dressage. I heard the bell and cantered her towards the first jump, she flew over the jump with inches to spare, then I turned her to the next jump and I realized I'm on a bad stride oh shit.. to my surprise Dawn put the sports gear on and made two collected strides one and then jumped this horse fixes everything :) I felt her hoof hit the rail and listened to try and hear if it fell, but as I didn't hear the thump! That indicates it fell I don't think it did.We were coming to the next to last series, a one stride, I haven't tried that on her beforehand so I'm just hoping for the best, approaching it in 3..2..1 Jump! She jumped flawlessly over the first one, but then. She turned it into a bounce. I felt myself panic and raised up in a two point just in time not to get left behind, but to my surprise we didn't knock the pole! I gave full speed to the last combo oxer, vertical, oxer we can do that! Dawn was running really fast and then we jumped over the first oxer, then the vertical and lastly the yellow oxer, we cleared and really fast too, the crowd went wild with applause as we walked out the arena.
"She didn't like the one stride huh?" Sophie laughed at me and I stuck my tongue out and answered " As if he'll do any better" as I nodded at the black gelding she was sat upon " Of course he will! I'll go right now and show you!" And with that she went in the arena and started her round with a salute to the judges, I stayed in the warmup ring until the jump offs would be out.
Sophie's horse also turned the one stride to a bounce and she got a bit left behind but they still cleared all. " Attention everyone, the jump offs will begin shortly, the people in it is: Sophie Richards and Starless Night, Harper Williams and Dusk till Dawn and Sara Smith with Stone till Dust, we will get Sara Smith and Stone Till Dust in first" The volunteer announced with a bored voice, ugh Henrietta whatever. I went up to the fence to see Sara and Stone they were doing really well until she tried a REALLY close distance like one jump at the quarter line and one at the center line right next to each other.. her horse stumbled head first into the jump and she fell off with the horse falling on top of her when I heard "Someone call an ambulance!" from the crowd "I'm at it!" I yelled back as I dialed 113 beep! beep! "Hello, This is 113 how may I help you?" I heard on the other side of the phone "We need an ambulance at NHC really quick, a rider fell off and the horse fell on top off her ribcage" I explained "There is an ambulance on the way"
3 hours later
Long story short, the girl broke 3 ribs and her shoulder while the horse just were really shaken and taken to the vet. Now it was Sophie's turn in the ring "Break a leg! Or maybe don't.. I don't like calling 113" I shouted at her as she stuck her tongue out at me.
She cleared the course perfectly without any faults and a time at 43.0097 seconds. I doubt I'm going to beat that, but hey let's try!
