"Wei Ying... Wake up."

Wei Wuxian opened his eyes, but then he was blinded by the light so he shut his eyes once more.

"Why is the place so bright, Lan Zhan?"

He asked. He tried to open his eyes once again and saw Lan Wangji's face covered in blood.

"Lan Zhan! What happened to you?"

He panicked and stood up, cupping Lan Wangji's face.

"I'm fine. It is nothing."

Wei Wuxian looked at his surroundings. They are surely not in Jingshi. So where are they?

"Where are we, Lan Zhan?"

"I am not quite sure where are we. When I woke up, we're already surrounded by monsters. So I fought them with bare hands."

"With bare hands? What do you mean?"

Lan Wangji didn't respond, but another man replied for him.

"I think we're stuck in a black magic maze, and we're not allowed to use our powers."

Wei Wuxian turned around to see who's talking. He was dressed in simple, white Taoist robes, with a conical bamboo hat covering half of his face. On his wrist, there also hangs a white cloth, perfectly encircling it.

"Who are you?" Wei Wuxian asked.

"I'm Xie Lian, and here's my companion, San Lang." He smiled widely and presented his companion, a man who has skin as white as snow and wears maple-red clothes along with exquisite, silver vambraces.

"I'm Wei Wuxian, and here's my friend, Lan Wangji."

He offered his hand for Xie Lian to shake. Xie Lian took out his hand but before he took Wei Wuxian's hand, San Lang shook his hand instead.

"Oh, your friend is so grumpy, Xie Lian." Wei Wuxian commented.

"San Lang is just like that, but he's kind, don't worry. Anyways, we need to find a way out of this place. Are you in?"

"Of course!" Wei Wuxian looked at the silent Lan Zhan.

"But can we help Lan Zhan with his injuries first?" He asked, worrying about Lan Wangji's state.

"Okay, I can help you with that."

Xie Lian said, smiling. Together, they need to unravel the mystery behind this trap, so they need to be fully prepared and in a good condition.
