Piper's POV:

I stuff the last few things for bootcamp in my suitcase. Kenzie is at my house helping me pack.

"What's the weather supposed to be like there?" She asks as she rifles through my closet for clothes to "borrow" while I'm gone.

"It's supposed to be-" my phone rings, cutting me off. I flop onto my bed and answer it.

Piper: Hello?

Niall: Hey Pipe, I was just wondering when you wanted me to pick you up.

I look at my clock and think for a second.

Piper: Umm how about in 20 minutes?

Niall: Sounds good! I'm so freaking excited!

I giggle.

Piper: Me too. Now hurry up and pack so you can pick me up!

Niall: How did you know I'm still packing?

Piper: Niall, I've known you since I was 9. I know by now that you pack at the last minute.

He laughs I can hear him zipping up his suitcase in the background.

Niall: Alright you caught me. See ya soon, Piper!

Piper: See ya.

I hang up and toss my phone onto the other side of the bed. Kenzie plops down next to me.

"What did Niall say?"

"Not much. Just that he's picking me up in 20 minutes." I stand up and pull her up too. Kenzie wraps her arms around me in a bone-crushing hug.

"I'm gonna miss you, Piper." I feel my eyes fill with tears.

"I'll miss you too." She holds me at arms length, a few tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Just don't forget about me once you're famous," she says, smiling. I crack one too, knowing that even though that'll never happen, I couldn't possible forget about her.

"Don't worry, Kenz. You can come up and visit me in my mansion sometimes," I reply, teasing her. She smiles and slings an arm around my waist.

"C'mon, the girls will be here any minute."

"Piper! Kenzie! Jacie! Megan, Alli and Nikki are here!" My mom yells from downstairs right on cue.

"We'll be right down!" We wipe away our tears and walk downstairs, only to have fresh tears brought on when I see my best friends in the world waiting to see me off. They all run over and hug me, squeezing me until I almost can't breathe. But it's the good kind of pain. By the time they pull away I'm an emotional mess. Niall walks in and smiles when he sees us.

"Girls," he mutters at our emotion. We laugh and hug one last time before I load my luggage into the back of his car. We're driving to the airport in Dublin.

"Goodbye!" "Good luck!" "Kill it!" "Have fun!" You'll be amazing!" We'll be watching you guys!" Everyone yells something different at the same time, and tears prick the back of my eyes as we pull away. I'm looking out the window, trying to hold back my emotion when Niall surprises me by reaching over and gently taking my hand, intertwining our fingers. I look over and smile at him.

"Do you regret auditioning?" He asks after a long silence. I pause before answering.

"Never."
