March 17th 2:15am
My birthday is in three days.
My head rested upon my pillow as my arms and legs surrounded my giant turtle plushie, I named the plushie Haruki-Kun. The phone light lit up the room.
Me: You're coming over for my birthday right?
Ukita: Of course! Why wouldn't I?
Me: I'm inviting a few of my friends from school if that's alright.
Ukita: It's your party, invite whoever you want. Do you want me to bring anything?
Me: You don't have to, but if you want to bring cookies then go right ahead.
Ukita: Lemon Oreos, your favorite ;3
I smiled as I read the text. Ukita knows me so well, we have been best friends since the second grade. We hung out all the time and stuck together like glue. We went to each other's birthday parties, we went to movies and restaurants. And they were the one that convinced me to shave the back of my head (I keep that style to this day). I adored being with them for every second. Ever since I moved away in January, I haven't been able to see them at all.
Aunt Kara really wants me to have a little event celebrating my birthday, I'm not complaining. I've always loved parties.
"Excuse me, Yoru, but do you know what time it is?" Chiyo, our cleaning lady, knocked on the door as she saw the light coming from my room. She is a respectable elderly woman who is a great friend of my aunt and uncle. Haru hired her when we first moved here. She's also a very good cook and very kind as well.
I scrambled out of bed and opened the door softly. "You saw nothing, Granny," I whispered.
"Not a soul." She winked at me. I liked Chiyo, she lets me get away with things. And she also lets me call her Granny at most times.
I closed the door and sprawled onto my bed, clutching onto Haruki-Kun once more.
March 20th 1:50am
"Hey Fang! Am I late?" Kirishima was at the door, carrying three bags in his arms.
"Yah' early actually, the party doesn't officially start until 2. Do you need help wit' those?" I offered, holding out a hand
"No no! I'm good! This helps my muscles." He walked in awkwardly, "Who else is coming?"
"Mayuma, Tsu, Ururaka, Midoriya-" I counted off the names on my fingers, "-I was forced to at least send a message to Bakugou. Todoroki, Koda, and my friend Hiro Ukita will be here to."
Mayuma came in right after Kirishima. I was met with a surprise behind hug from her. It wasn't long until people started to arrive. Aunt Kara took a day off from work today to make the food and answer the door for the guests. Chiyo was away today, for a meeting she said.
"Hi Yoru! Happy birthday!" Ururaka wrapped her arms around me with glee as I greeted her at the door. "I brought something cool, I thought you might like it." From behind her back, she lifted up a large box.
"Hey a karaoke machine! I've always wanted to do karaoke. Thanks girl!" I took the machine from her and placed it on the coffee table in the sitting room. It wasn't long until Mayuma and Kirishima had booted up a song and yelled out the lyrics erratically.

No matter how crazy they sang, it looked as if they were having the time of their lives. They held onto each other's shoulders and arms as they would both end up almost dropping to the ground after attempting the high notes.

THE TIME TO START IS NOW! AND I CAN SHOW YOU HOW! START WITH ME AND THE WORLD WILL BE EVEN BIGGER THAN EVER BEFORE!
In an instant they both collapsed to the couch, out of breath but smiling. For the past few minutes a few more people arrived. First it was Tsu, who came with cookies. Todoroki and Izuku came next, they both brought a card and a drink of some sort. Bakugou came right after him, I didn't say anything to him but I overheard him talking to Mayuma saying that his mother made him come after I sent him the message. Koda arrived and brought an adorably wrapped gift. Koda and I have spoken quite a bit over the past few weeks. He is a nice boy, and I enjoy our little discussions about animals and nature that we have together.
"Are we missing anyone?" I asked myself as I looked into the group of guests. Ukita! Where are they? They aren't normally this late. But, abnormally unsuspected, the doorbell rang. I could hear the door being opened by Kara, "Oh hello, you must be Ukita. Please come in! Everyone else is in the sitting room." I didn't even think for a second until I scrambled over to the door. My body collided with another body. I blinked spontaneously, "Ukita! You made it!" I pecked my lips to their cheeks, from one to the other.
"I missed you so much!" Ukita beamed as our arms were wrapped around each other with a strong embrace. Apparently, I hugged them a little too hard, because Ukita's feet were off of the ground. I set them down gently and we walked over to the sitting room. Everyone was watching Uruaraka and Izuku singing, I didn't know which song but it sounded really adorable hearing them sing together. Ukita and I sat on one of the couches, Kirishima leaned over towards me,
"Hey, I want to thank your parents for setting up this whole thing. They're really cool for putting on this party, lucky you."
"Thanks man," I smiled at him, but a sudden thought struck me, "but I don't necessarily have parents."
Kirishima's smile faded instantly,"Oh really? I sorry I didn't mean to-"
"No it's not that they're dead or anything. They just left me when I was born and tossed me into custody of my aunt and uncle. I don't even care who my parents are; if they left me, they left me. I don't need to know who they are in order to live on."
"I never knew that Moriko. I guess that's why you only talk about Mrs Kara and Mr Haru." said Mayuma as she took the other spot next to me.
"Yeah..."
"Let's change the subject, who wants to sing Chop Suey with me?" Kirishima announced as he stood up.
"I'll do it! I know all of the lyrics! We got this in the bag." Me and Kirishima fist bumbed each other as we set up the karaoke machine. Something that I like about the red head is his ability to act, he stays cool in any situation and knows exactly what to do. He's a great kid.
