February 6th, 2:40 a.m.

As my body relaxed on my newly cushioned bed, I clicked play on my iPhone. The song Distortion by BABYMETAL had commenced it's intense number. The heavy metal genre has always been a favorite of mine. Its deep meanings are accompanied by a chaotic atmosphere. This is something I cannot get enough of. I thank my friend Ukita for getting me into it. I miss them already. It's only been two weeks since I left the countryside, and it's my fault that we had to move in the first place. I don't think Aunt Kara and Uncle Haru would ever forgive me for this, but they seem to be in good spirits from what I can see so I probably shouldn't be worrying too much. Strangely, I don't feel so bad about what happened to that kid. I didn't mean to spit out venom and temporarily blind him- or permanently, I can't remember. Either way, it was just an accident. It's a new addition to my quirk, some strange venom that spurts from my fangs. It's kind of annoying sometimes. I would be doing something and then...

SHEE-AA-OW! Just add some fighter jet sound effects and there you go. Thank goodness it doesn't affect my skin. Now that I think of it, why doesn't it affect my own skin?

Tomorrow- or I should say today since it's past midnight- is gonna be a new fresh start for me and my guardians. I'm glad that they're crazy wealthy so I could get into a decent school. I'm actually surprised UA Academy takes in students halfway through the year. Anyway, I'm not too nervous about going to a completely new school. Meeting new people isn't a problem for me. Man, I wish Ukita could come with me. We would have a blast together. But in the meantime, I guess I should get some shut eye before I waltz in through UA's front doors.

I woke up to the dreadful annoyance of my alarm clock. I opened my eyes to seeing the time-

6:15 p.m.

"Ugh!" My voice sounded groggy. I wasn't late or anything, I just hate mornings. They're always so cold too.

"Yoru, get up and get ready." That was Aunt Kara knocking outside my bedroom door. Uncle Haru was busy working by now, I assumed. He's an artist so he has his studio in the basement. He still has a few more boxes to unpack and that would most likely take a while. Aunt Kara is just a cook. Nothing too interesting. Still, she was able to open up a brand new restaurant in the city even before we moved here, just two months in advance actually. It's kinda pretty too.

I searched through my closet, hoping to find one of the uniforms I was provided with. "Aha! Found 'em!" I exclaimed. Colors weren't my cup of tea. I don't think green and grey together very well for some reason that I won't even bother to think about. Nearly tripping, I slipped on a white button down and the grey pants of the uniform. And then I found the coat that goes with it. The reflection in my mirror smiled back at me, "Heh, not bad." I said. After that, I put on my black and grey converse and a big hoodie over the coat. Hey, it's freezing outside, so I need this damn hoodie. I'm not very fond of the cold, it's a reptile thing I guess? Being cold blooded sucks in the winter time

I arrived at the front doors of UA High. A strange feeling hit me, "What if they make fun of me?" That has gotta be the stupidest question I have ever asked myself. It's hard for me to understand what went through my head but I know completely that it made the wrong assumption. There is no real good reason why people would make fun of my looks. I'm fabulous! I'm not an over thinker and nor do I wish to be one starting today. Is it the pressure? I mean, this is my first time at a brand new school in the city so I believe at least some jitters would come from it. What's the worst that could happen?
