April. The school entrance ceremony. I was waiting for the bus to arrive at the nearest bus stop from the place where I used to live for several days. The day was bright and sunny. The atmosphere was delightful, too. Warm sunshine passing through the green leaves of the trees besides both sides of the road were giving the perfect morning vibes.
Starting today, I'm going to enter into one of the most precious parts of every student's life... The high school. I wanted the next three years of high school to be spent peacefully.
I've worn the school uniform. Placing both of my hands in my pocket... I took a glance around the bus stop. There were four office workers at the stop, two female and two male and the young man who looked like a university student.
After a few minutes the bus arrived. The door opened and closed, apparently, I was the only one who got in. As I climbed in... I took a glance inside, only to find that there were more than enough vacant seats available. I took the nearest seat from the bus entrance where I was standing. I shifted to the window seat and started looking out of the window... In the open, blue and white sky.
When I entered the bus I saw three students wearing the same uniform as me. We're heading to the same destination, I guess.
I'm heading to the Tokyo Metropolitan Advance Nurturing High School. Starting today... I'm going to enroll there as a student. I heard this school is pretty extraordinary and unique compared to other schools in the country.
The reason I decided to enroll there was because of the rule "students cannot get into contact with the outside world."
One might think the school is pretty isolated, But, as for me, this is the best place where I can experience freedom.
Yesterday, I spent almost all night playing games and learning about the things a high school student must know. I did it because I don't want to get labelled as "a weirdo" who doesn't even know... that. I've already decided I'll gain popularity in only one particular field and I chose 'gaming' because I never get to take a closer look at this. By doing this, I might attract attention but It'll be limited to only the gaming field and no one can see anything special in me besides gaming skills. So it might be a better option to restrict others from delving into my past because of the sudden curiosity of what speciality that student has... But it might get opposite results than I expected... Well, it all depended on what kind of people I was going to deal with.
I'm not going to do anything extraordinary, anyway. Gaining little popularity would be fine since I'm looking forward to making friends.
Because of staying up late at night, my eyes were slightly reddish and I'm feeling a little sleepy... It might not be because of the lack of sleep but the gentle breeze coming inside from outside, hitting directly on my face.
As the distance between school and bus was getting shorter, the number of passengers started to increase. I didn't mind it at all, leaning back in my seat, I closed my eyes.
While thinking about what personality-type will lead me to the most peaceful high school life and imagining different scenarios in which I'm behaving myself as a student, I heard a voice of a mid-aged lady coming from a little distance.
"Excuse me, but shouldn't you offer up your seat?"
Judging from the source of the voice, she was one of the passengers who were travelling standing on their feet.
I opened my eyes, wondering who was getting scolded.
A young man, the same height as mine or maybe a little taller, wearing the same uniform as me, has taken over the priority seat. Coincidentally or not, his eyes were closed too.
