Soon, we arrived at our destination and every high school student disembarked one by one. As I got off the bus, I saw a gate formed from natural rock waiting just ahead. All the young boys and girls were passing through it, so, without giving it any second thought I started walking towards it.
Suddenly, a black car stopped exactly beside me. Since I was walking at the edge of the footpath, it felt like it was ordering me to get inside.
The doors opened and closed, and before I realized it, there was a blonde haired guy standing right in front of me.
The car left, too. It doesn't seem like he received any parting words.
If it wasn't for his uniform, someone might have mistaken him for a bodyguard, so did I. He was a tall, well-built young man who had an aura which was overflowing with confidence.
My eyes wandered around his sides, what was so dear to him that he even brought it to school? His sides were occupied by two huge travelling bags but not as huge as the smirk on his face.
His appearance was, kind of, top notch, but his personality was opposite, I guessed.
More than half of a minute has passed since he stood there, looking at the school's gate. The look in his eyes was like he just achieved something great.
I would've left him alone but the bags seemed quite heavy. I don't think it would be easy to carry them all the way into the dormitory, even for someone like him.
Finally, perceiving my gaze, he looked at me, then glanced at his bag and was about to look up at me again.
"Do you need some help?"
"Would you mind accompanying me?" we asked each other simultaneously.
"Oh, yeah. If it's okay with you, would you mind helping me to carry one of these bags?" he asked.
I didn't see any harm in helping him out, there was plenty of time left till the start of the entrance ceremony, too. Above all, this seemed a rather perfect opportunity to be friends with him.
I preferred talking to someone alone, getting close to them in the meantime and celebrating the newborn friendship. I wish it could be as simple as it seems.
Well, I highly doubted a guy like him will ever welcome the idea of befriending me in the first place, but I should look forward to it as a trial before the real thing.
"Don't think there's nothing in it for you. I'll definitely offer you something." he bargained, sensing that I didn't answer anything yet.
"No. There's no need for that, I'll help you out."
"Oh, you're surprisingly a good man, too, aren't you?...Here then," he handed over the bag from his left shoulder and I hung it up on my right shoulder as I received it.
"Follow me." I followed after him as he instructed and started going inside, piercing through the crowd which was only focused on the area around the gate.
The Japanese government had created the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School with the express purpose of developing future leaders. This would be my school from now on.
I'd started my new high school li-, no, new life here, it was more thrilling than I expected it to be.
We passed through the crowded gate, which in itself was like a huge burden was lifted away, I was a little relieved.
There were all kinds of students in front of my eyes, some filled with excitement, some filled with nervousness, some of them looked uneasy and some were smiling to their heart's content, must be thinking that their dream will turn into reality after graduation.
