We arrived at the coffee shop.
*Creak.*
Koenji opened the door, and we went inside. He didn't utter a single word all along the way to the coffee shop.
As we entered the shop, we noticed the shop was filled with pin-drop silence, we could even hear the voice of every footsteps we're making while leading our way to the empty table. Well, Koenji was the one who led our way, I was just his follower, all this time.
Luckily, the coffee shop was almost empty. Considering the time, it should be normal.
"Here, have a seat." Koenji said, tapping on the wooden table. I pulled out a chair and sat down. He then went to order something and came with two mugs of coffee.
There was a camera right behind the corner of the cash counter, capturing every angle of the shop.
"Here, Ayanokouji-boy, it's from me, since you're showing me your beautiful side," he said, handing over one cup, but for some reason, I felt weird. I accepted it, anyway.
"So, you're not as imperfect as I expected you to be, huh?" Koenji said, grabbing a chair.
"Your acting skills are quite amazing, aren't they? Did you take any special tutorials or what, Ayanokouji-boy?" he asked, after shifting his chair right in front of me.
We were facing each other.
Koenji had a smirk on his face, he still enjoyed the way things were going, huh?
"You can say that. I took the benefit of the crowd and took a glance inside of your bag, there were just books. So, I didn't think there would be any kind of books which would ruin a high schooler's reputation, and agreed with myself to believe that they are adult magazines."
His smirk widened a little more as I explained it, but I assumed he would be considering the act of peeking into his luggages as something uglier but I wasn't quite right.
I had never peeked in his bag, did he catch on to that fact?
Yeah, it was reassuring to take a glance at it when we were passing through the crowded area and the chances were less of getting caught, too, but after reflecting on the risk it comes with, I'd rather choose to do nothing.
If koenji had even the slightest glimpse of me peeking in his bag, he would've never let his guard down around me and that wouldn't have led us here.
Thanks to his personality, he kept thinking I'm inferior to him, and it made things way too easier than I thought.
Yeah, I must be inferior to him in some manner, it's inevitable. He was not an ordinary student, either.
The shine on his bag indicated that he just bought those bags. If he'd planned it all inside the car, then it was all worth it to keep him in contact.
"I'm not the type of person who'll let my guards down around others, and in your case, I deliberately made you think this way, and the result is, here we are, Koenji," I said, Koenji was just looking at me, as if he wanted me to elaborate.
"I'd never allow anyone to use me like the way you tried to do. Everything was in your favour and you even got the proof, the colour of our bags, yours is white and the one I had is black. Every student passing around us can notice it if they try even a little or camera's recording can help you to get outside of the matter and find me guilty as someone who brought a bag all the way here. So the possibility of it ending in my favour was quite unimaginable," I stated the facts, which, for some reason, sounded selfish by my side.
If a student noticed it, the blonde guy who went in with white bag came outside as it was and the brown haired guy's bag wasn't there, and they open it up to even a single student, there were endless possibilities that it'd spread around and I would've been identified as "Rumoured-guy" before even I got to enter the classroom.
