As Nic and Elle travel together deeper into the city, Nic begans to feel the Lumiquoine in his pocket, catching him off guard that he still carries it.
"I'm sorry that I frightened you earlier, I thought you were one of them coming after me", she apologies guiltily.
" Elle, don't worry about it, I understand that you did it for a reason, I don't blame you. Besides, you really took me by surprise when you pushed me against that wall, I'm actually amazed by your strength. " Nic turns to face towards her, smiling down at her.
"You're pretty strong", he adds in.
" Thanks", she awkwardly responded, blushing and giggling.
"The only reason I chased you, was because I saw your necklace, and at that moment, I knew that it was you." Elle holds onto her necklace, grinning a little.
"Well, it was given to me as a memorable gift from a certain someone", she comments, looking at Nic in a funny manner.
" Memorable, like this?", Nic replies, pulling out the Lumiquoine. She gasps, once she caught sight of the flickering light.
"Oh my god, you still have that?", she responds shocked.
" Of course Elle, this too, was given to me as a memorable gift, from a certain someone ", he winks to her. They continue to walk for a couple of minutes, moving around fallen debris and rubble.
"Do you know where we are?" Elle stops to pull out her hologram, waving her hand over the device. The cobalt blue laser grid pops up, and Elle begans to play with it.
"5J", she responds. Nic takes out a pen, and begins to write on his wrist.
" What are you doing?"
"Writing down where we are, so I can restrict the travel here once we get home." Suddenly, the grid changes, and four red dots appear on the hologram, moving towards the couple. Both of them watch as the dots move closer, while Elle scans the area.
"They're coming, we have to go", she replies, grabbing Nic's hand and taking off. As they begin to run just a short distance, two men with automatic rifles cut the couple off, whilst two more men approach them from behind.
" Put your hands up!", one of the men ordered. Both Nic and Elle quickly raise their hands, standing back to back with each other.
"I found the first girl, and there's a different boy with her, what do you want me to do with him?", he explains, radioing another officer.
" Bring him ", they instantly reply.
" Alright you two, move", the officer commanded. Nic begans to follow the officers, until he spots that Elle is refusing to obey.
"I said MOVE", he yells, shoving her aggressively, catching the attention of the other two officers. Using her eyes, Elle signals Nic to distract the officers, whilst they move away from him. Nic suddenly pounces on one of the officers, attempting to snatch the rifle. Elle pulls the rifle forward, quickly drawing out her dagger, and stabbing the commanding officer. He groans in pain, as Elle removes the dagger from him, and flings it to another officer in the chest, immediately killing him. The third officer charges towards her, in which Elle slides on the ground, making the officer fall. She reaches for his ankle holster, drawing out a pistol and killing the fourth officer. She turns around, and shoots the third officer in the head point blank. Elle approaches the first officer, as he drags himself across the dirt floor, bleeding in the process.
" Three officers down....send bac-", the officer requested stressfully, just before Elle snatches the radio away and crushes it.
"What do you want!?", he yells to her.
