Nic quickly grabs Elle, and pulls her away from the distracted guards. A shower of bullets pass right through the creature, seemingly having no effect on it. Suddenly, lines of dark beams emerge from its body, and it begins to attack the nearby men. The men fly across the room, knocking other guards down with their force. As more particle beams scattered throughout the room, oncoming bullets that passed through the beams, would instantly disintegrate, and leave behind a metallic powder. The Wraith dissolves into its dust form, whilst the men constantly fired wherever it traveled. Finally, the creature takes form, and startles the guards.
"Flash grenade!", one of the men yelled. A bomb is hurdled towards the creature, and a few seconds later, it detonates. A blinding flash, followed by a deafening pitch, causes a part of the creature's body to uncontrollably break down. After the flashbang, the particles reconnect to itself almost immediately.
" Flash grenade! ", another guard yells out. The bomb is deployed once more, causing the creature to transform. It completely crumbles, and moves around in an insect swarm-like fashion. It then, engulfs itself around the flash bomb, prolonging its brightness. The light dies down, and eventually, burns out. The swarm of particles move towards the center of the crowd, and reassembles back into its original state. The men attempt to retreat, only for the Wraith to produce a deadly shockwave, shattering every window in the building. The men collapse onto the ground, as they all suffer the same effects of the flash bomb. Alarms begin to sound off, and people start to run in every direction, in attempt to escape. As Nic and Elle continue to run, they are also caught in the shockwave blast. As a result, the couple tumbles to the floor.
"Are you okay? ", he asks her dazed.
"I think so", she responds disoriented. Despite Nic being dizzy and having blurry vision, he quickly stands up, and picks Elle off from the floor.
" Focus Elle, we need to find the treasure room first."
"Yeah...", she replies exhausted, struggling to understand him. Suddenly, more guards march into the room, and position themselves. All at once, they begin to open fire at the dark, inter-dimensional being.
"Bring in the sonar amplifiers!" One guard brings in a weapon similar to that of their rifle, with the difference of it, being fitted with a clear funnel. They use the weapon against the creature, forcing it to remain whole. Two more men bring in the same equipment, blasting the creature with vibrational sound waves, and locking it in position. It tries to break down into the particles, only for them to reattach right back into place. The creature merely tears itself apart in its whole state, straining to resist the harmful soundwaves. As Nic lifts Elle up, he looks over to see the Wraith vulnerable, and left completely defenseless. He walks with her for a few steps, until he grew hesitant about a decision.
"Elle...cover your ears..", he tells her. As she follows Nic's request, he aims his rifle at the men, focusing greatly on his targets. He fires multiple rounds, and as a result, he kills two of the men. The shooting was cut short, as the loud gunfire painfully stirs up Nic's senses. The creature grabs the guard's weapon, and physically crushes it with no effort. The Wraith then lifts the last guard by his neck, and suspends him in the air. His neck immediately forms a dark, purple bruise that quickly spread to his chin. The man shouts in pain, as his neck veins begin to bulge out a bit, and turn black. After several minutes of excruciating pain, the Wraith finally kills him, and simply tosses his body aside. One last guard runs towards the creature, and fires at it with a pistol. The being breaks down into its beams, and projects itself straight through the guard, instantly killing him.
"Come on Nic", she says, pulling him away from the area. They exit through the doors, unaware that a Wraith watches them escape. It dissolves into its trio of lines, and slowly makes its way to the other side of the building. While it travels throughout the prison, it passes by other cells, making other frightened creatures retreat further in their space. After several minutes, the effects of the flash bang finally wear off, and the couple carry on to the treasure room.
