Chapter 4 . A date that goes wrong

I shot straight up still dazzled from the dream I had experienced . It took me a minute to get things straight , still couldn't believe that it was a dream. I've never been that connected to a dream, that it would alter my mind. Slowly everything seemed to sync in , my meeting with aria, crazy powers , destiny and my role that had lives depended on it. A lot to process I thought. Well I wouldn't let that get in the way , I have a test today and I'm late again !I said to myself.

A few minutes later I was hauling myself up the stairs, into the hallway and dived into class just in time for the test .
It took sometime to catch my breath and then I was off! Carefully reading each question, thinking of the best suitable option and bubbling , I was like a little machine , I eased through the first set of questions . " ok let's tackle the next I thought. This continued until I had no questions left, wooah that was fast I thought , I handed my papers and left the class, I was rather surprised I was the first one to submit.

Then all of a sudden my phone rang, " hello" said a sweet soothing voice, " we met on dine and date a couple of weeks ago and you pinned me , I just checked your profile and if you don't mind I would like to meet you" . " Sure , how about 6 at Bollywood delights" I said sounding excited.. Wow my first date I thought , atleast I have something to look forward besides superpowers , destiny and grave danger! (imitating Aria's accent) . I can't wait to tell Amanda and Ambrose about it.

"Dude Great score!! " Ambrose said as we walked into the common room and found Amanda to be waiting. "What took you guys this long " she said sounding cross. "Our little Romeo has just got himself a date! " Ambrose said with excitement. The smile Amanda has been holding on suddenly dropped and turned into a dry one. "Ooh " she said trying to be upbeat about, " well that's great " she said. I could tell she was not happy, after all those years with her , I know when she's happy or faking it.

A few hours later ( in the bathroom )
I was having a shower and rehearsing at the same time. " hello there ! I'm your guy! No way too lame I thought! Ok how about this hi! I'm the man of your dreams ! No what I'm thinking ! God why is it so hard to talk to a girl! Uuuh stop freaking out Zander , it's only a date I told myself, how hard could it be. After a few minutes of pep talk and self boosting I was ready . "You'll do fine " Amanda said, just be yourself. Hey thanks I replied . " Dude "blurted out Zander I've got three words for you GO GET HER TIGER!! He yelled " umm that's technically four but yeah sure man!" I said and smiled as I walked into the entrance looking forward to an exciting evening.

Cold air filled my lungs as I entered into the dining hall and seated myself in front of a beautiful woman with enchanting eyes. "Abby " I managed to say , "no Sally " she said. Ooh wrong table , I'm sorry I thought you were someone else. I apologised and left , I started swooping around looking for a girl that fitted the description and then I spotted someone waving and beckoning me to join her. ok let's cut to the chase , first look not so impressive, Too short , not that pretty and definitely not my type, even the voice which sounded kind of like the voice which comes out of barbie dolls.

"Hi I'm Abby , it's nice to meet you she said gesturing me to sit". " Hi I'm Zander just Zander " I said and that's probably the last thing I said , after that there was nothing but awkward silence that was disturbed by the waiter . Knowing I had to take the initiative I just began to speak and then suddenly I heard a voice, it was like a dull whisper , "God he's so boring" I hope he pays for the food atleast " . "I'm sorry did you say something " I asked rather feeling rather astonished at her comment ,"no I didn't say anything " she replied and then I heard it again " when does this date end? Does he even like me? . "Wooah from where did that come!" from I shouted. " I'm sorry is there something wrong" she said sounding a bit concerned. " umm nothing sorry it's just that its my first date and I'm kind of tensed I confessed and then it hit me! The voice I heard was not from someone but inside someone, I just read Abby's mind!! Everything started to make sense the powers , signs, destiny everything , I need to talk to aria immediately I thought. " I'm sorry Abby but I need to leave now, maybe next time I said and rushed out of the doors.

"Done already ?"Amanda said sounding surprised, listen take me to the place on 6 th thai way immediately I ordered .
" why ? What's going on? "Just do it" I yelled . As soon as the car stopped I opened the door and ran like a maniac till I reached the old cottage , forced the wooden door open and rushed in . Aria!You in there? I've got something really crazy to tell you! You won't believe what happened! . "I'm in here "she replied , "you seriously won't believe what happened I went on this date and guess what I could read her mind"!! "Crazy right " I yelled. Your powers are growing faster than I anticipated I'm actually kind of surprised she said.

I believe you the whole destiny thing , lives depending on me and all that , I believe it. There still a lot for you to learn Zander, about you , your past,your destiny and your purpose but there is no time , we need to leave before they get here! Who ? I said and why? . Listen Zander right now we need to get out of here , I will tell you everything you need to know but just come with me now! . " where ? I asked , to the safe house! " She said sounding restless wait! I'm not going anywhere without my friends" I need them they're all I got "I pleaded. "Ok fine get them and meet me at that black car over there" she said Pointing to it.

Ok I said and rushed to meet my friends. " Guys do you trust me! "I said . " yea we do they both replied. " then come with me , I know I sound crazy right now but believe me I have no idea what's going on , all I know is that we need to get out if here and we need to get out fast! Are you with me I said hoping they would come with me. "Don't be too formal Zander" Amanda said "we would do anything for you , your problem is our problem" . "Thanks guys " I replied. Well then I hate to cut the sentiment but we really need to go I said gesturing them to hurry up!. "Speaking of going" said Ambrose where are we heading? I have no idea where but I Do know where to ... We are going to the safe house!!!
