You could hear the rhythmic clinking of valuable goods getting closer towards you, the hurried footsteps of travelling men becoming more apparent. As you leant against the wall of an old building, hiding from the blistering sun, you thought about how you'd have to move quickly yet you were still internally debating if it were worth the risk; even though you had made your mind up prior to this moment. On the one hand, even a fragment of the riches stored in what you presumed was a chest they were carrying, would last you at least half a lifetime; however the consequences were dire, was it worth the extreme punishment that could possibly unfold from your actions? There was no time to mindlessly wonder about the possibilities of what could and could not be, you either could proceed or not; although it was in your best interest to go ahead as starvation had you dangling in its grasps.

Deciding to approach them subtlety, you straightened out the creases of your dress before slowing moving towards the male guards. As you got closer you saw it was not in fact a chest but instead a sac that was being transported, making matters a tad more simple.

You tapped on the shoulder of the guard closest to you, "Excuse me sir?"

He seemed startled. How had he not noticed you he thought to himself. He looked at his companions but from the looks on their faces, they were just as taken aback as him. Glancing at you, he took note of his stature compared to yours. Yes, that must be it. Somehow, the difference in stature prevented him from noticing you beforehand.

Your brow creased as you looked upon the male very deep in thought. He looked similar in age to you, his features consisting of copper-toned skin, brown hair and green eyes. To many, he would be considered attractive.

"Pardon me for not responding earlier miss, how may I be of assistance?" His tone was polite yet there was still a hint of suspicion laced within, (rightfully so).

"May you please direct me to the nearest store if it's not too much trouble, the heat has left me rather parched?"

He used his index finger to direct you, "Follow the dry path straight ahead and turn left. There will be a market, you can't miss it."

"Thank you, you may have just saved my life." You lowered your head slightly as a sign of thanks before departing from the young man.

You decided to follow the directions he gave you so to not arouse suspicion, but also due to the fact that you were actually parched.

The pathway lead to a market filled with vibrantly coloured stalls, each merchant having a unique display of the item they were selling. You went to a stall selling sweet treats and bargained all your coins for one bottle of water and a pastry which you ate in no time.

Once you had finished eating, you reached in your purse bringing the items of value out of the bag and laying them flat in your hand. It would've been too risky to take a look earlier, so this would be the first time you'd see what you had managed to get.

The cold metallic feeling in your upturned psalm turned out to be an extravagant gold ring that seemed to scintillate when it caught the light, revealing an intricate design with an emblem embedded in it.

The level of beauty the ring beheld was more than you could put into words, it must have been near priceless. You slid the ring onto your ring finger and admired how it looked on your hand. It was incomparable to any jewel you had ever seen in your short life, however, you knew one thing... it would amass a great fortune.

You were certain you had to find a pawn shop and do so fast, a ring as such looked as though it could even belong to the pharaoh! Getting it out of your hands before you lost it or it was stolen from you was now your top priority.
