A regular, busy, day at the Owl Cafe.

Costumers coming and going, the day flying by. This was a regular day for Luz Noceda. She worked here sense the age of 16 and works with her friends Willow and Gus. Her boss, Edalyn Clawthorn had almost become like a second mother to her.

She loved her job, and her friends. She was finally happy and where she was supposed to be.
Everything was going just fine.

That is, until she met someone else.

"Willow! Can you please get me more cups, oh! And don't forget the napkins!!"

"Got it!"

"Thanks." I said. I pored the hot coffee onto the cup and rung the bell.

"Cappuccino for, Melinda?"

A brunette lady in a blue dress got up and took the latte. She thanked me and went out the door.

After a few hours, more customers started to leave and the day was almost over.
Willow and Gus left early like they always do while I stayed for about 2 more hours.
No one really came after 7 so I just stayed on the counter looking at the clock and waiting for anyone to walk by.
Suddenly I heard the bell from the door ring.

"Hi welcome to—

I went quiet. My mind froze.

A girl with aqua blue hair enters the shop.

She looked so... different.
Pretty... I think is the correct word.

She was wearing blue mom jeans and green pairs of converse. She had a oatmeal white t shirt on and a brown button sweater on top. She was carrying a green backpack and had earphones on.

I had no idea what to say. But I didn't have too, she beat me to it.

"Hi. Can I just get a regular expresso, please?"
She said. Her voice calm and soft.

I snapped out of my trance and typed it on the computer.

Cmon Luz, pull yourself together.

"Alright, that would be 3.72 please." I said trying to keep my voice as calm as possible.

She handed me her money and I gave her her change.

I went to make her coffee. I took a few glances at her while she sat on the chair. She was so casual and neat, I wish I could have the courage to talk to her—

Wow Luz. What are you thinking? She's to good for you. Just go back to making coffee.

After a few minutes I called her and handed her coffee.

"Here you go, have a nice day." I said giving a small smile.

She looked at her coffee and then back at me. She looked, nervous? For some reason, and then suddenly, she-

"Do you have a phone number?" She asked, turning red.

I felt my face get hot and I blinked in confusion.

"Me— WWhat?" I stuttered.

"I-It's just, your nice and I, just wanted to get to know you and maybe... become-friends? I'm sorry it's stupid-

"No no, I think your pretty nice too. I- was just surprised! But- yeah. Here let me right it down for you."

I took a piece of napkin and a pen and wrote down my number. I handed it to her, as out hands touched we smiled and laughed.

"Thank you. Sorry if that was weird."

"Oh not at all! I'm glad you asked." I said scratching the back of my neck.

"Okay then I'll see you around— umm, what was your name again?"

"Luz."

"Luz." She repeated.
