- 3rd P.O.V-
Tapping the green phone icon, Hayi let the phone ring once before putting it to her ear. '..Ring ring ring..' Hayi phone echoed loudly in her ear as she tried her first attempt at calling Bobby, at least personally. Had she expected him to answer? Probably not since they both didn't save each other number, well at least Hayi didn't.
Another ring passed and she was for sure he wasn't going to answer, just as she was about to end the phone call, someone then answered "Hello?" She paused for a moment. Maybe Bobby actually picking up the phone threw her off? Maybe she didn't know exactly how to bring up about her quitting? Or the fact that his voice made her heart skip for a tiny moment. Either way, she was baffled.
"Hayi?" He asked and it only made her heartbeat speed up. And she didn't like it at all. "I quit." Hayi flat out declared. Rude? You bet, but at this point Hayi just wanted to stop the fast heartbeats and end the phone call. There was a pause before Bobby countered "I thought you needed the job and -" She cut him off and lied as nicely as she could "I did. But I'm just going to take a break."
Another silent moment passed until he gave her the approval. She sighed, knowing she was free from having to work as a maid. The term didn't sit well with Hayi personality. And working for the school's playboy Bobby surely didn't help the case.
"And Bobby?" She spoke quietly. Hayi could hear his breathing pick up a bit. "Yeah?" "I'm not going to school tomorrow since I'm still sick so don't bother looking for me." She continued to lie then hung up.
---------------
The next morning, Hayi woke up around nine to find both of her patents had left early. Who knew where her mom left too since she doesn't work. Hayi grabbed a simple meal of toast and eggs before getting dressed to go job hunting again. This time hopefully there were more jobs available.
And her luck seemed to always be bad. Walking through streets after streets, her luck shorten each time. No one seemed to wanted teenagers working. Studying wasn't the only thing students needed to attend college, they also need money.
Well that wasn't sadly the only reason why she didn't still have a job yet, some places she tried out for wanted what they call 'friendly' people and she wasn't classified that when she applied. Her nickname stuck to her so bad, a store wanted her to dress as Elsa just for the fun of it.
Hayi sat down and peeked at her cellphone. It was 2:53 and she already wasted roughly six hours wondering around for just any part time job. Maybe she should call quits and try again tomorrow? That's if the results were to change again but she doubt it. Getting off a bench, Hayi stretched her arms before catching a poster on a small family owned shop.
Part Time Job Now Hiring
Hayi eyes sparkled in delight as she walked towards the shop and grabbed a flyer on the table before stepped inside. "Hayi?" She turn around to see Hanbin in a matching uniform of the workers in the shop. He worked here?
"W-what you doing here?" He asked as he rubbed his hand onto a faintly powdered apron. "I'm applying for a part time job. Don't tell me you work here." He shrugged his shoulders "Is that so bad? Besides my mom owns this bakery."
Hayi smiled. Hanbin was the exact opposite of Bobby, which is why she was taking more interest in him. Hanbin smiled and ran to the back of the bakery to announce they found their newest employee. He came back with a pink apron and walked towards her.
Pink wouldn't be Hayi exact color choice, but it gave her that familiar feel she would get from working at her family old store. The shop her family were trying to save was a bakery too.
Instead of him handing her the apron, he turned her around and put it on himself. Hayi face was hot and matched her apron's color, she wasn't used to guys so close to her nor did she think he would do this.
Little did she know, Hanbin was struggling as he carefully tied it on while butterflies floated around his mid stomach. "Looks like your shift starts today." Hanbin chuckled then proceeded to show her how they ran their bakery.
-------------
Hanbin sighed as he put his heavy textbooks into his locker. Lunch was up next and he knew Bobby was going to continue his conversation on how to get Hayi back. He was beyond frustrated with Bobby coming up with lame main lead kdrama moves, but at the same time it made him laugh at just how bad his best friend was struggling because of her.
"Hanbin!" Bobby hollered from their usual table with Mino and some random girl who was drooling over him. Hanbin glanced around, hoping just maybe Hayi and Suhyun would let him sit with them, before sitting at his usual table. "Who's that?" Hanbin whispered to Bobby's ear. "Oh Jennie? Just an experiment." Experiment? Hanbin scratched his head trying to figure out what Bobby had meant by that.
Halfway into lunch Bobby told Jennie about him talking with just his two friends, basically she had to leave right then and there, and that he would meet her after school. "Ok oppa." she pouted but it looked too fake to be cute, at least for Hanbin. Mino excused himself too because he was in no mood to here Bobby struggles again and also he had something to do in the library but the two knew it was such a fake excuse. Mino didn't do much unless it related to rap and bets. Bobby was in the same case really.
"You're my best friend and you got classes with her, you got to have some advice for me Hanbin." Bobby sighed. "Since when have you been so desperate?" Hanbin laughed before getting a light punch in his arm. "Yah! Its not being desperate? Besides it's not like I'm interested in Hayi."
"Seems like you are." Hanbin dully answered. "Or maybe the fact that Hayi the only girl who hasn't fallen for your 'charms' yet." Hanbin earned another playful punch before Bobby says "Yah your supposed to back me up Hanbin not get on my bad side."
He was right about that, he didn't honestly want to deal with anymore drama he was already in. If Hayi knew that he was somewhat part of the bet she wouldn't ever forgive him. But if Bobby knew Hanbin liked Hayi it would be even worse.
"Fine. Yesterday I found out that Hayi was looking for a job I guess after quitting the one you gave her." Bobby muttered something under his breath but he didn't catch it. "So now she's working at my mom's bakery." Hanbin was then being shake by a pleased Bobby who was laughing. "Hanbin what would I do without you!?" He then snickered "After school I'm following you to work."
"What about Jennie?" Bobby shrugged his shoulders and said "She's not part of my bet right now so I couldn't care really." Hanbin rolled his eyes and reminded him that she had feelings too but that went through one of ear of Bobby's and out the other.
----------
Hayi was standing behind the counter attempting to try her best to put on a smile. She wasn't much of a person to smile unless she had a reason too. Hanbin's mom had kept her company until Hanbin would come, turns out he is a lot like his mother. Almost as if they were the same person.
The front door open hit the tiny golden bell hung up in the front. There she sees Hanbin walking in. She smiled for a moment before hearing a loud male voice call out "Hayi!" Her face instantly turned sour.
