Anthony rushed home with his brand new game stuffed under his arm, he was already planning out the whole day for himself and his good friend, Ian. First they would set up their usernames and deck out their avatars with the most overpowered gear in the game. After spending a few hours doing that, they would actually play the game and probably troll some little kids and laugh about that for a while. Anthony had been waiting outside of the local game store all night just for this moment, the moment he and many others had been waiting for for nearly five years. The worlds first immersive game and he was gonna be one of the first to play it!

"Ian! You home?" Anthony asked as he closed the front door behind him. He noticed a small memo stuck to the doorframe and he pulled it off to read it;

"I'll be back soon. I got the game by the way. By the way don't play the game until I'm home because I'll kill you. See you soon, asshole. :)"

"Wow." Was all Anthony said as he stuck the memo back onto the wall. He figured that Ian would take his sweet time getting home so Anthony decided to start playing the game by himself, just until Ian came home. Ian never followed through with any of his threats anyway so it didn't bother Anthony too much. He ran upstairs and put the CD into the games console and synced up the head-gear with it so it would work. Apparently for the head-gear to work to its full potential, the user must remain in a stationary position and not move their real body unless completely neccesary. Anthony placed the head-gear on and was greeted by a cheery looking boy, the type of person that usually shows up at the beginning of games to give you a tutorial on how to play the game and things like that.

"Hello! I'm Billie Joe and I'll be your personal guide through this game. Thank you for buying our game, I hope you are pleased with it so far!" Billie Joe exclaimed excitedly, "Oh, I forgot to ask! What's your name?"

A keyboard appeared in front of Anthony's eyes and tried to type on it before realising he had forgotten to put on the gloves. This is also apparently a necessity for the game but it was just an extra gimmick for people to waste more money on. Anthony carefully put on the gloves and to his surprise, they were rather comfortable. He reached his hands out and saw them on the visor screen of his head-gear, much to his amazement. He typed out his hand and hit okay and Billie Joe began the tutorial without asking anymore questions. Anthony realised that he hadn't picked out a username for himself yet but maybe he would do that after the tutorial?

"Welcome to Fresh Start Fever, Anthony! This," Billie Joe held out his hands and a whole world formed in front of him, "is Andraca. This is where your adventure begins!" There were mountains and forests and lakes, all of this more real to Anthony than anything he had ever seen in a game before!

"I assume that you're amazed by this, right? It is pretty impressive if I'm honest. Anyway on to the gameplay! It's very simple; this is your avatar! This is how you look to other people who are playing on the same server as you but as this game has only just been released, this is the only server up running."

"You're kitted out in simple gear as of now but as you progress along the game, you will find better armour and weapons to fight stronger monsters and in some situations, other people. In case you were wondering, to move around this world all you need to do is think about the direction you want to go in and thats it! That's why the head-gear is useful. It's not just a gimmick in case you were thinking it was."

Of course Billie Joe was programmed to say that, Anthony thought, but I guess I should about what I want to do here. I want to go left.

Anthony's avatar turned left and began walking towards one of the stalls set up which was selling fruit and other food. He picked up one of the apples and inspected it; it felt so real! So this is what immersive gaming was like; it was as if your entire body was sent into another dimension and you could actually control what was happening in it!

"Congrats! Well that's it for the tutorial, if you need anything else then feel free to summon me again. I have a feeling that I'm forgetting something here... ah yes! What will be your username, Anthony?" Billie Joe asked as a keyboard appeared in front of Anthony. He thought about his username for a few seconds before typing in "SmoshAnthony" and clicking accept. He and Ian always put "Smosh" in front of their usernames in any game that they played; it was a running gag with them.

"Good name, I like it! Well SmoshAnthony, I must leave you now. Check your inventory for some starter armour and weapons and I shall see you soon! Goodbye!" And with those parting words Billie Joe was gone. It took Anthony a few minutes to figure out how to get to his inventory but when he did, he saw some cool armour and a sword; it was a basic sword but it could do some serious damage if used correctly. At least that's what its description said. Anthony equipped the armour and sword and admired himself; he thought he looked pretty damn cool already!

"Hey dumbass," a familiar voice said behind Anthony, "didn't you get my memo about not playing the game until I got home?"

"Ian! I wasn't expecting you to be here already. Anyway I see you've stuck with "SmoshIan" as you said you would." Anthony said with a laugh, "Also don't call me dumbass, dumbass."

"Shut up man. This game is pretty freaking sweet, don't you think? I want to live here instead of the real world. Real world sucks compared to this sweet-ass virtual world." Ian said as he held his arms up in the air as if motioning to the world behind him.

"Dude, you said that about The Legend of Zelda when you first played it. And Mario. And Sonic. And--" Ian cut Anthony off with a punch to the face and Anthony flinched in pain, "Dude what the f--"

"Don't swear, we're on a public server. We don't need some MLG ten year old kid shouting at us already." Ian said as he rolled his eyes, "There doesn't seem to be anyone else on right now so I think we should log off until other people join up. Maybe they got confused on the tutorial screen or something."

Anthony and Ian both searched for the log out button on their screens and eventually found it after a while of searching. They both gasped as they felt their minds enter their real life bodies again and removed their head-gears before looking at each other.

"Dude... that was awesome!" They both said in unison as they high fived. Ian looked at Anthony's hands and then back up at him, "You bought the gloves too?" He asked.

"The woman at the store pressured me to." Was all Anthony said before they both decided to get food, they were hungry after remaining stationary for an hour or so. After all, wouldn't you be as well?
