The 2 children dressed in their pajamas sat up on their bed, leaning slightly forward. They were curiously watching the man before them dusting off a book with his hands.
Their curious eyes were on the book rather than on the man infront of them. The said man looked at them and smiled softly. He then carefully placed the book on the nightstand and puffed up the 2 pillows- a blue one and a pink one, that were near the headboard.
He then made the children lay down on the bed adjusting their pillows for them. The pink one for the girl who was around 5 years old and the blue one for the boy who was around 6 years old. He brought the comforter up and cozily tucked both the children in.
The children's eyes were eagerly following the man's movements now. The man took the book in his hands, pulled a chair near to the bed and sat on it leaning his back comfortably.
The children were excited more today than any other day they had been. It was because of this book that the man held in his hand.
The children always had their eyes on this book since they were even more young. But, it was always placed on the highest shelf, one which they could not reach even if they used a stool to stand.
Whenever they asked the man about the book, he answered that it is a true story and that it is very dear to him and his sister. This made the children even more keen to know the story.
But today, they did not have to do any risky stunts of climbing stools or hanging onto the shelves. All they had to do was just lay relaxed and listen.
It was their story time and the man- the girl's dad and the boy's uncle; promised them a beautiful love story tonight.
The boy exclaimed "Uncle, we are very excited to hear this story". The girl nodded in agreement with her cousin and said "Yes dad, we are. You know I and Tae here always tried to look into the book in your room, but you kept it so high that we couldn't reach it" and pouted.
Her cousin Tae chuckled at her cuteness and pinched her cheeks softly saying "Hey Seokie, why are you sad now? Infact you should be happy that we are going to listen this story without any efforts needed".
At this Seokie's eyes brightened and said smilingly "You are right Tae". She then looked at her dad and said "Dad what are you waiting for? Please start".
Her dad smiled at their conversation and started reading the story to them.
