Chapter 2
I learnt nothing that lesson about Hamlet, nothing at all. I mean I was watching the teacher the whole time and listening to him too, but nothing went in. It was Tristins presence. He dazzled me. I could see him out of the corner of my eye. He faced forward too, focusing on Mr. Brindle spinning his pen on the desk. But every now and then he'd glance across at me. Keep focused keep focused I thought. Do not look back don't and don't you dare smile. It was SO hard not to smile. I mean this gorgeous boy was giving me attention, me. Or maybe it was just fascination with the new girl. Yeah, that was proberly it. Just curiosity.
When the bell rang everyone rushed from their seats to get to next lesson, as I shoved my books in my bag in noticed Destiny get up and approach Tristin. "You didn't call me over spring break."
"Yeah I know, i'm sorry I, er.. had stuff on."
"Oh yeah, of course I understand." Destiny gave him a smile clearly trying not to show how hurt she really was and strutted out to meet her friends. I felt sorry for her I did, but on the other hand did this mean he wasn't interested in her? Wait,e why did I care? It's not as if I had a chance with him anyway. He was mr popular and I was the new girl. I didn't know him, anything about him. But I wanted to.

Chemistry and Spanish went past in a daze. The introductions to the class, the 'tell the class a bit about your self' crap that would normally make me anxious. Non of it bothered me as my mind was else where. It was on Tristin. I sat lost in my thoughts all morning. What was his surname, where did he live, what was his favourite colour, what was his favourite band, what subjects did he like, what does he want to do when he's older. There was just something about him. I was drawn to him. It was like there was a force pulling me in making me want to know more. Yet he'd said one sentence to me.
The bell rang for lunch and Elena was waiting for me outside my class room. "Hey how was Spanish?"
"Erm yeah great."
"Are you OK? You seem a little, odd. Or are you always like this?" She laughed.
"No no, i'm fine. Just a lot to take in." I said with my best reassuring smile. "Now what's for lunch!?"
We walked to the cafeteria and Elena went through with me what to get and what not to get. "The meat loaf is rank so always pass on that, oh and so is the meat surprise, no one actually knows what meat it is. But the pizza's always good, and the sandwiches. Oh and the cake is awsome!"
We sat down with Rikki and Summer, and her other friends Strike, Jacob and Danny. Strike apologized for nearly knocking me over and asked me a lot of questions about my self. It was odd but he seemed genuine. Danny say 'sup!' and Jacob wouldn't tear himself away from his sandwich for more than a second. Elena whispered in my ear that she had a thing for him and she'd really liked him for ages but just didn't have the courage to tell him. Personally I couldn't see the appeal. I took that as the opportunity to ask about Tristin. He was sitting about 3 tables away from ours with Destiny, Addison and Lottie and two other guys in sports jacket that had 'LA Tigers' written on them.
"So who's that Tristin guy from English?" Elena, Summer and Rikki looked up at each other and smiled. "What?"
"Oh god she's fallen already!" Summer giggled.
"NO!. I mean no, I haven't. I was just wondering what his deal was?"
"His deal?" Rikki laughed. "His deal is that he's like Mr Popular, totally cool, every girl in the whole of East LA's crush and full time heat breaker. He's different though, not your typical popular. He's not a jock. He never has a girlfriend, he's mr un-available. Destiny's totally head over heals for him but he's just not interested."
